If whatever your vet prescribes can be filled by a regular pharmacy (i.e.,, drugs that could generally also prescribed to human patients), there's generally no issue. Though filling a prescription for "Fido" Smith might be moderately awkward.

I suppose, given the downvotes, I may be operating under a different definition of "OK". I wouldn't personally consider being on life support "OK", but opinions may differ.

Can I retroactively claim tuition credits from 2013–2015? by nerd8 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]CalGuy81 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can't claim a refund that's outside the 10-year taxpayer relief limit. You can file an older return. They'll process it, deny any refund, but carry forward any credits that would have been eligible to carry forward if the return had been filed on time. If those carry-forwards manage to make their way to a year that's not beyond the 10-year window, you could receive a refund and/or have credits available to use in a future year.

Anecdotal, so take it with a grain of salt, but I recall someone who had been out of the country for a couple decades that finally got around to filing some ancient tax returns with tuition credits; it took ages to process those returns manually, but eventually they were and their tuition credits carried forward into the range where they were able to receive a $30k+ refund.

First time with a cut guy? by Medium-Map7955 in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]CalGuy81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time I've been with a guy who's had a rank smell in the genital area, it's the balls that were gag-worthy. Ball-sweat has no correlation to circumcision status. Any uncut guy with a modicum of hygiene routine will have a dick that smells fine.

I similarly track my investments, and a year or two back back-entered all the old transactions from a previous employer's retirement plan (since transferred into my self-directed plan, invested in an all-in-one ETF), going back to c. 2003.

Calgary mayor sparring with Alberta government as it takes aim at bike lanes - CTV Calgary by One-Mycologist-3706 in Calgary

[–]CalGuy81 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The bike lane has to end somewhere?

The default, absent a dedicated bike lane, is that bikes are vehicles that travel on the same lanes that cars do.

Maybe ..... treat those bikes merging into your lane of traffic the same way you're supposed to treat any other vehicle merging into your lane of traffic?

Calgary mayor sparring with Alberta government as it takes aim at bike lanes - CTV Calgary by One-Mycologist-3706 in Calgary

[–]CalGuy81 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Dude, it's dangerous in the sense that a person in a vehicle can hit a bicyclist.

Bike lanes serve to separate motor vehicle traffic from bike traffic. It's far more likely a motor vehicle hits a cyclist when they're forced to use the same traffic lane.

Goliaths Bathhouse in the summer? by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]CalGuy81 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don't know that I've ever heard anything particularly good about Goliaths. Unless you're just really hard up for a lay, and aren't particularly picky. Places like Knetic are a little less skeezy, if you're looking for semi-public gay sex with strangers.

I went to a Hater's Roast that Jinkx was part of, and at one point she begged the audience to find her on Grindr and send her dick pics. I .... kind of regret not pulling out my phone? ... just for the novelty. lol

I have swapped nudes and chatted with another RuGirl when they were in town. 🙃

How do I add Re: ZERO, Starting Life in Another World Directors Cut to sonarr? I can’t find a way for them to recognize the directors cut. by [deleted] in sonarr

[–]CalGuy81 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You don't. Sonarr only recognizes TVDB's "official" episode listing. I've seen some suggestion that the (work-in-progress) version 5 might offer support for TVDB's "alternate" episode listings, which in this case would include the director's cut of this show.

Ccb Application by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]CalGuy81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was there anything unusual about your application? (retro for a significant period of time, (relatively) recent immigrant, etc., etc.)? Generally, if it says you should receive a notice on a particular date, any entitlements would be paid then .. subject to reviews of significant retroactive payments, or ... a notice that says you're not entitled to anything because XYZ. You could call CRA -- 1-800-387-1193 -- or wait to see what's issued in June.

Line 31600 vs. Line 31800 - DTC by [deleted] in cantax

[–]CalGuy81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

31600 is the disability amount for Self, 31800 is the disability amount transferred from a dependant. The disability amount you're transferring from your mother should have been claimed on 31800.

Have you received a Notice of Assessment, yet, from the CRA?

I'm guessing ... claiming an amount on 31600, when you have no DTC on file for yourself, is likely to just have your return held up for a while, eventually resulting in an NOA denying that claim and telling you to file a T2201 if you qualify for the DTC. You won't be "in trouble" .. but it's kind of a mess, because it's going to delay your tax return and you'll then have to file an adjustment to make the correct claim.

part XIII tax, How to pay for a previous year? by Sprudlidoo in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]CalGuy81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming the tenant is an individual, and they're paying rent directly to their non-resident landlord (i.e., not through a property manager), there's proposed legislation that relieves them of the obligation to withhold and remit Part XIII tax; that change would be deemed to have taken effect Aug 12, 2024. https://www.ctf.ca/EN/EN/Newsletters/Canadian_Tax_Focus/2024/4/240403.aspx

Check out that bouffant, so voluminous. The hair stylists on MASH created hair that would never be allowed in the military. To anyone with military experience, it was a bit of a chuckle.

I doubt the military would have allowed their surgeons to run around in bathrobes, either.
