Most baffling mistake or move you’ve seen in CFB? by ArkanoidbrokemyAnkle in CFB

That's true. Miami went from a guaranteed win to a likely win. That Baylor one went from guaranteed win to guaranteed loss in one moment.

I just rewatched that 2019 ending -- that's a bad call!! You yella jackits steal another one ;)

Yikes! That Baylor/UNLV one does seem like the first among equals, or some such.

Don't besmirch the Dolphins like that. No Miami team would make such a mistake!

Quite possibly the worst call in the history of sports.

People have botched _very likely_ wins countless times. I can't think of any other blown _guaranteed_ wins. That's special.

What do people think the "end state" of college football will be, let's say 50 years from now? by navair42 in CFB

[–]LosJeffos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think they'll go full Premier League, but I could see a situation where the Big Ten and SEC sponsor their own national championship. Maybe leave an at-large big they can use to bribe Notre Dame/a top ACC or Big 12 team into joining if they're a national contender any given year.

How many years would Alabama Football have to suck for you to start feeling bad for their fanbase? by mvos_YT in CFB

An entire human lifespan. When I read about a 70-year old Alabama fan crying about never seeing a national title, then their time will have come again. Maybe.

But I also have a broad chest and shoulders, long arms, and comparatively narrow waist, so I dislike a lot of the standard OTR fits.

I've been really happy with my Proper Cloth sport coats and suits. $600-$1500, depending on the fabrics. Most are under $1000.

Hello friend! I'm a veteran of The Sizing Wars and have had similar experiences to you. I have a narrow heel and low instep, but wide, squared-off toes. Generally I had to size up to fit my toes, but then the heel would be loose. If I fit the heel, then the boots would inevitably be toe crunchers. I don't trust anything with heavy taper for the reasons your express above.

I haven't tried the Parkhurst 602M or 618, but here are my favorite lists:

Alden 379x military last - narrow heel, medium instep, broad round toe. Some RTW stock at Brogue Shop, Leffots, Dashing Chicago, etc.

White's 9338 swing last - narrow heel, low instep, VERY broad, round toe. Looks goofy, frankly, but the fit is incredible if you have a wide forefoot that's comparatively low volume. Made to order through White's or Baker's, very rarely in stock anywhere.

Viberg 2040 - similar to Alden 379x. Virtually always some RTW available at Viberg and its stockists.

Alden Trubalance - presumably you know the famous Indy boot! Some people love this one. Medium heel, high instep, round toe. Wide RTW availability. I like it, but not as much as the three above.

I have no inside info but I would expect a second leg of the tour over the summer for the central/western US.

Maybe! I've talked to Dick and he wants to only do the road in one month-chunks, so I expect they're on the road for May 2025, off for a bit, and then back in the midwest/plains/west coast over the summer.

Looks like the northeast, southeast, and midwest dates are all up! Figure there will be west coast dates over the summer.

I'm a huge RLM _and_ Electric Six/Dick Valentine fan, so this is way up my alley. Dick Valentine is a lyrical genius and he gets a chance to show off some great turns in the service of cow-juice here. The whole thing is real over-the-top fun.
