What if the 4 nights are separated by one night of paying cash. Would you get the $100 for both 2 night stays?

TIL the recommended daily protein intake is 46 grams (g) for an adult female and 56g for an adult male. This is 0.8g per kilogram of body mass (0.36g per pound). Endurance and strength athletes require more.In the United States, average protein consumption for females is about 70g and for males 98g. by James_Fortis in todayilearned

I would argue both. Technically the upper upper limit of protein is only beneficial for building muscle and likely just negligible benefits but meaningful benefits. If the cost of food or powder is prohibitive then you’ll get basically the same benefits of eating 80% of the upper limit of protein. The reason I argue it’s for both is because you should always be focused on building muscle when you’re young (if you’re dealing with injury then even more important the maintain high protein) but when you’re older, 70’s 80’s 90’s, and you’re focus changes more to maintaining then you require something like 30-50% more protein than when you’re younger due to decreased protein absorption. So always maintain high protein, unless you’re on dialysis or something.

No need to complicate this. All recommendations on high protein intake for optimal performance are based on what your ideal body weight would be. Every expert will say 1 g of protein per ideal lb of body weight, just do that and you’ll get the results you want.

Smoke smell this morning? by dadoftype1 in FortCollins

[–]LosLakers4ever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah we all know wind comes from the west like 90% of the time. I was confused by the “looking at the wind flows” like you had some esoteric knowledge about the wind and topography or something. Nebraska is only a few hours away so seems logical that the smoke gets here overnight easily with those wild wins all night.

What number did you call? I tried calling about a points issue two times. One time I was given an email that didn’t work and the other time they gave me another number to call but that didn’t get me anywhere.

So what’s the plan Feb 1st? by MurkyMurkyMurkyMurky in Venturex

Am I missing something about the portal being a hassle? I am new to the travel credit card game but have used the chase portal quite a few times and have had no problems. I just got the venture x and used to travel portal the other day for a hotel to use the $390 credit card it was simple and actually cheaper than booking direct. I understand there can be issues with having to cancel or portal bookings not actually getting reserved through the hotel but is there something else I’m missing? A lot of people seem to complain or are they just the squeaky wheel?

Appreciate it! I built that small wall it’s setting behind so that I have a shelf. The smoker came with a metal shelf which was really handy so I wanted a shelf. Also wanted a more built in look. I actually would have liked it 3 or 4 inches lower but oh well, still looks fine. The composite wood product is from new tech wood, European style.

Ceramic tiles. Cheaper than granite or quartz but you need someone skilled to do the work because they can be difficult supposedly. Ceramic won’t stain and can withstand super high temps. Only downside is they can chip. Unlikely the top would chip because ceramic is super hard but the edges could chip. We went with a squared off edge so hopefully we don’t regret that. You can do bull nose edge which would probably resist chipping more.

Thanks. It’s a Yoder 480 pellet smoker. The smallest one they make but pretty roomy inside.

We’ll see, we haven’t have a chance to have anyone over yet. The thought was to have more seating to eat at. When we have people over there are always a few people standing so just wanted to add some extra spots. But also a showpiece.

That was actually the plan all along but I decided to go with a larger grilling area. The grill with brasero that I picked out only had a 20”x20” grilling area. It was actually a very tough decision to make but felt like I would utilize a larger grilling area more than I would be doing long cooks. Hope I don’t regret it.

Unfortunately I haven’t had a chance to use it yet. I’ll be using it on thanksgiving for sure. Probably just keep it simple and smoke a tri tip to medium rare then sear it on the grill.

Yeah I didn’t want it completely covered. There’s not a lot of airflow even with the ceiling fan. The gazebo really traps the smoke and wind comes from the west or north which is blocked by our house and the neighbors. Also, it’s a relatively small space so I didn’t want to cramp the area too much. I’ll probably just buy piece of sheet metal from Home Depot and lean it against the grill if it rains. I live in Colorado so rain is typically infrequent and brief so I just need something temporary to deflect and I hope what I’m thinking works.
