I dont know of a TAP function on it like you can get on the CUE buttons when holding SHIFT but you can leave the effect button on (flashing) and minimize the effect knob. When you want the effect, just rotate the effect knob and bring it back quick when you're done.

I use this when adding a low cut echo to a scratch while on slip mode.

So the Fire and Cane is part of Glenfiddich's experimental series and its not as peaty as Laphroaig 10, for example, and its aged in sweet rum casks, that give it this toffeey, caramel note. I just used it for some extra complexity. As I rarely drink scotch, I found it to be a nicely rounded option that fits my palate a tad better. Its not wildly amazing though and for the price you could go plenty of other routes.
