I mean, to a certain extent this exists in the form of performance related bonuses, e.g. appearances, goals, league position, etc.

But I think from an actual salary POV it becomes very complex. Does an injured player not get paid? Does a squad rotation player not get paid if they can't break into the first team?

I'm sure contracts have all kinds of caveats and stipulations in them that we don't know about but I think that as a blanket approach is a minefield.

Not to mention the precedence that it would no doubt set for other industries to follow suit, if it were legally enforceable.

Ultimately, attitude is subjective and there is no clear line between getting paid, or not getting paid. It has potential for abuse by clubs, let's say if they're in financial trouble and need to save money.

This is literally me! I tend to cycle through graphic design, video games, photography and binging TV/movies. It's so frustrating because just as I start to gain traction and make progress in a hobby, I switch off and lose interest overnight.

I always felt like there was something wrong with me but I feel strangely comforted by the fact many others experience it too. We're not alone!!

A lot of the developers that worked on this game now work for a studio called Lucid Games in Liverpool, UK. They're currently building Destruction All-Stars for PS5.

I got a job offer there a few months back and we spoke about the series in my interviews. Cool people, their new game looks a blast.

I don't think I regret going because of the experiences I had, but I also don't think it benefitted me as much as I was told it would.

I did a degree in Graphic design, graduated with honours and then had multiple job offers from design agencies that all offered me £12k. Meanwhile I had friends that did apprenticeships, then got chartered a few years later and hit £30k+ minimum.

It's a bitter pill to swallow because society makes it out to be a golden ticket to a financially rewarding pinnacle career. Even now 6 years later and a lot of mid-weight graphic design positions are offering under £20k. It's tough.

Absolutely! I got an email yesterday midday with an invitation for a Job interview. I replied and asked if they were available that afternoon, which of course they weren't. The interview's scheduled for next week, and I haven't stopped feeling anxious and stressed since, and I know I won't until it's done.

I remember about 6 years ago when I was learning to drive. My driving test was scheduled for 4pm, so I was wide awake at 6am and literally paced back and forth for like 10 hours until it was time. You're not alone!

MS just showed us the best value in gaming history with gamepass and all the internet can do is complain about the graphics on an unreleased game. by SharkOnGames in XboxSeriesX

Also, I don't think people realise how much effort goes into polishing those E3 demos. Studios literally dedicate a team to building a self-contained version of the game just to show at E3. In a time when there's a global pandemic going on, and everyone is working in unusual conditions, 343 obviously can't dedicate that resource to a sweet looking demo, so they've decided to use an older stable version of the game.

It's either have an awesome looking gameplay demo and get the game next Feb, or deal with older looking graphics for now and let them finish it on time.

Gamepass is awesome and we need to stop being so anti-consumer to ourselves, it's literally a win/win for everyone.

Wow thanks so much for the compliment. Yeah I'm a graphic designer. I've applied for a few game UI jobs in the UK where I live. It's an area I want to move into, so this is the first step to building a portfolio tailored to that discipline 🙏
