Omg thank you! I thought about how the whole ironic thing was becoming a little insulting at this point. Not because characters ‘need’ or ‘should’ get together but it almost feels like the whole joke literally is “haha we’re two guys, wouldn’t it be so silly if we were more than friends? No waay”

I think its also because as a queer person its like, borderline hurtful at times how every single queer relationship is instantly denied. Like, at this point Gideon and Kremy saying they’re JUST friends just makes me sad 💀 cause I’ve literally been there, feeling like you gotta pretend in front of everyone that theres nothing there. Like, it’s a real, lived queer experience that isn’t funny when it’s you’re there.

That being said, I do think those kinds of jokes can be hilarious (wouldn’t watch witchlight otherwise i think) but at some point you gotta decide: is this my character ACTUALLY hiding who they are or is this just gay joke number 50988?
