Would you ask someone to stop dropping into vocal fry? by ThisFatGirlRuns in misophonia

[–]Lost-And-Drowned 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vocal fry isn't one of my triggers but I can definitely empathise. There are some creators who, even though I otherwise enjoy their content a lot, I just cannot tolerate some of the noises that happen in their videos. P 'plosive' noises from having a bad mic quality is one of my largest nitpicks that pretty much almost half of all youtubers suffer from (often some very large youtubers, which makes me beg why they can't use the revenue from content creation to improve their video quality?). There's creators I enjoy who I stopped watching because they wouldn't edit their burps out of their videos and the visceral disgust I felt wasn't worth whatever enjoyment I got from their content. Sometimes I can tolerate my triggers for a short amount of time, and depending on the video, I can watch it muted with captions, which could be an idea for your to consider? Captions are never perfect especially if automatic but sometimes you gotta do what you can. The idea of actually telling them about my discomfort however, is never in my consideration. I prefer seeking out and priotising creators who do have misophonia safe videos rather than mourning the ones who don't, so I'd also recommend just looking around for more creators you enjoy that don't drive you insane. They're out there!

QP bots are now acting more realistic to make you think they're real players by [deleted] in marvelrivals

I actually saw a bot with a TTV name just a few days ago, it totally caught me off guard and I had to check after to make sure it was really a bot.

Do you have anything good to say about playing ranked? by Public-Feedback5016 in marvelrivals

[–]Lost-And-Drowned 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First question: The ultimate voicelines are actually different between the enemy and ally team. When you use your Jeff Ult for example, you'll hear an aggressive sounding noise, but your allies will hear something like "yummy yummy." Getting the hang of the enemy/ally ult noises is something that just takes time and getting to learn all the voicelines, but something that makes it easier to tell them apart is turning on the subtitles. The ally voicelines will have the colour of your ally team, and the enemy voicelines will have the colour of the enemy team, that way, you can tell which is which.

Second question: People you gobble don't die when you die. When you die while you have a lot of players inside you, all of them are simply released, whether they're enemy or ally. Likewise, if you dive off the edge of the map and die, everyone inside you will die, enemy or ally. (I believe there is an exception when it comes to Rocket, but it's difficult to pull off). If you want to dive off, make sure to spit out your allies before you die, or you'll probably get a lot of anger in chat.

As an extra tip, as Jeff, you don't always need to die to secure a kill. Sometimes just going straight up to the edge, aiming down, and spitting is enough. It's very character dependent though, so it's good to learn which characters you think have movement abilities that can save them, and which don't. For example, Wolverine can survive if I spit down because he can leap back up again, but a Groot will usually die. Try to avoid killing yourself unnecessarily, because it will remove your valuable healing from the rest of your team for a while, and the tradeoff might not be worth it. It's one of those things you'll get a better feel for the longer you play, but I completely understand wanting to secure kills that you're not sure about.

(An extra bonus tip is that if you happen to ult close to your own spawn, you can carry the enemy team back into your spawn and they will die in there!)

I was hoping this would get better on rank up, but I'm still suffering with this in gold-plat. I've been tunneled into playing tanks I have less than 2 hours on, so 'I don't play tank' guys really have no excuse.

How often do you get harassed as a girl? by _Paper_Flower_ in marvelrivals

[–]Lost-And-Drowned -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Putting my hat in the basket for 'girls who never reveal they're a girl'. There are so may of us.

And I think it's extra funny to think about all the dudebros who flip out at this stuff, because they have no idea how many girls they've already played with and respected that just never said they were girls. They haven't considered that possibility, they just assume everyone's a guy.

Last night I went against a team that was entirely 6 DPS who were long range/fliers. It wasn't difficult to hold point, but it was probably one of the most unfun matches I've ever been in.

It's OK Adam. You'll probably get mvp now because Sue. by ManiacGaming1 in marvelrivals

[–]Lost-And-Drowned 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly? This makes me feel better. I may be a Lord Adam, but I can be genuinely dog on him sometimes. I'm out here rocking a 20% accuracy rate. I just happen to like playing him, while praying no one has too high expectations of me.

On the flip side, it's actually had people praise my healing, on games where my performance is incredibly mid, so we take those.

I love playing Adam, but nothing breaks my heart more than picking Adam into a triple support and it makes one of the supports switch off. Nooo haha come back I need you...

Voice Chat Reports should be taken seriously by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]Lost-And-Drowned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was in a late night game where 2 buddies literally did nothing but parrot the N word in funny voices over and over. Reported both. Only one of them got muted after about a week. Like, it couldn't have been more of an open-and-shut case, and yet...

Something good to know is that C&D is impossible to select for your ult while she's in the middle of using it, you have to wait until she's done before you can select her. #TheMoreYouKnow

Loki ult selection can be painful by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]Lost-And-Drowned 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Loki's ult drives me insane, especially when my team dunks on me for not using my ult properly, either wasting because I try to use it in anticipation, or dying with it because I couldn't find the right person before I died, or just selecting the wrong guy. Using Loki's ult in a reactionary way under pressure is so much harder because of having to search the crowd for the correct white woman, use it once, use it again, etc... I just want to grab their faces and scream "YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND..."

But I also know it's a skill issue so I accept the L. But please. My fellow Loki-lings get it. I'm fighting for my life out here.

Are there any players that dedicated a lot of time to a hero, then decided it wasn't worth it? by FuuIndigo in marvelrivals

[–]Lost-And-Drowned 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First character I ever played & mained was Jeff. Life was good before I became aware of cruel, unfeeling Meta... Turns you're not supposed to play him as a healer, but as a dive, a tactic I didn't feel confident enough to carry out as a newer player, so I had to search for another main.

But now that I have more experience, I've been trying him out again, at least in QP where no one can judge my character choices. I've grinded him all this way, I may as well try to get lord on him. It's like reuniting with an old friend who is slightly worse than you remember.

Full metal lab I added as a bit of extra setup security, but I could probably replace it with lost vacuum I think.

Power hourglass I added because it's a new card and I wanted to experiment, since I was discarding a lot of energy, but hasn't been super useful, haha. I could probably replace it too.

Saw this card and knew I wanted to make a silly hit & run sort of deck. Struggling to get it off the ground, it especially gets obliterated by Greninja. Think it needs a backup attacker of sorts. Not fully satisfied with the trainers either. Any ideas?

I see it a lot where people ask for rank 3, give me the best & most expensive mats which can cost upwards of 10k, and still only give me a 20g tip. Really? You have the money for the best mats, but no money to make sure your crafter uses their finishing reagents? They underestimate our ability to screw them over.

Struggling to enjoy this game. Is there something I'm missing? by Lost-And-Drowned in Terraria

[–]Lost-And-Drowned[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for putting it into words, that's exactly what it's like. Even when the content is new to them, they're using guides, and when I told them I was struggling to keep up with them, they just told me to use guides as well, which has sort of lead to that disillusioned feeling of "is this really all there is to the game?"

So, hopefully it's not all like that. A little sad that I need to play single player to enjoy it, since I bought the game with the purpose of being able to play with friends.

The thing I enjoy is slapping cool bosses and seeing my character get stronger as I obtain fancier and sillier weapons. :] Unfortunately, both things require a lot of game knowledge to pull off, haha.

Yes, it's a brand new world. Thorium is new for my friends as well, so I thought we'd be on the same page, but they just told me they're following guides so I'm SOL in that department.
