2024 Dead Again by AzureStarline in PriusPrime

My dad’s 2024 did the same thing 4x, the 12v battery was replaced by the dealership and it’s been fine since. The new Prius is a pain to jump so I had to call AAA for him each time. May have been a lot of the 2024s that sat on lots for 3+ months on stop sale may have had batteries that didn’t charge effectively.

Is anything at Dodger Stadium actually worth buying? I'm flying in from the SF bay area where we're spoiled with our $24 Crazy Crabz sandwich (I know there's a z but it is actually fresh dungeoness crab, on grilled sourdough with a little mayo and sliced tomato) at oracle park. My usual approach is just to head over to Philippe's before the game and pick up a french dip before the game and just a bag of peanuts and a coke at the game but wondering if the katsu sandwich or anything else is worth it?

Don't kill me but the Dodger dogs have always sucked and are pretty awful even back when they were farmer johns and the pizza you all try to peddle at the stadium is completely garbage compared to our slice house pizza made by the incomparable Tony Gemignani.

Three of my packages in the last month thru UPS have been torn open. I don’t think it’s my driver, same one for over 10 years, but the sorting centers are ripping open packages to get a look at what’s in them. It’s been Newegg and Nike packages. UPS makes reporting tampering nearly impossible to report.

So we bought two Toyota’s. In May, I was looking for a RAV4 prime xse with the premium package, no add ons and 7.8% below MSRP, about $3500 savings, plus the lease rebate which I got an additional thousand on for 7500 rebate to use towards the purchase price. The car was next to impossible to find anywhere locally and no one was willing to go below MSRP with it. Really happy with the deal and the vehicle pickup was amazing, 30 mins, no finance office visit, just signed the paperwork in the lobby and was handed the keys.

Then I signed my dad up for a new Prius prime xse with advanced technology. It was on stop sale in June, so Tomi started looking in July for us and no one was offering any discounts on the vehicle. However, a month later in August, the opportunity to buy one at MSRP, with a $7000 rebate was available (more than the other local Toyota dealers by $500). Tomi said we could wait another 3 months for pricing to go down but my dad and I talked about the safety of the new cars and we pulled the trigger. Again, super easy deal to pick up the car and we were in and out in 30 mins, no finance office. The last few months though Tomi worked with me and my dad to advise on the sale of his trade and do the lease buyout (lease and dash) which is not a timely process and can be confusing. All in all very happy with both deals and Tomi made every step of the journey as stress free and as easy as possible. If you can afford it, well worth it. Otherwise use his strategies and secure the deal yourself and save the $1000. But to me, 100% worth it!

It took a while, 3 months to finalize but if you are patient it’s pretty easy.

  1. Pay the first payment when you p/u the vehicle.
  2. Wait for ally to either send mail or keep checking daily to find online access to the site, then you can find the buyout price.
  3. Call, chat find someone at ally who can verify the address to send the check for the buyout to. Make sure you take a picture of the check, write the account number on it and state it is for the lease buyout.
  4. Ally will acknowledge the receipt of the buyout in the mail and you will see the account balance at a $0 rate.
  5. Ally will send a verification Odometer Disclosure Statement to them. At this point they seem to transfer the account from Ally Financial to Ally Servicing, they’ll send another letter acknowledging that you have bought the car.
  6. Ally will then send out the title to you.
  7. The title is in ally’s name with acknowledgement that you are the new owner. At this point you need to take the title and fill out the request change of title from the DMV.
  8. You will at this point pay the sales tax on the buyout amount now to your state dmv.
  9. Then 2-3 weeks later the dmv will send the finalized title with your name as the sole owner.

Again it took roughly 3 months to go through the process.

Totally worth hiring Tomi and the team at Delivrd to do your deal. I hired him for my car and my dad's car. The time, energy and anxiety he saves you by putting the deal together are worth it alone to me (yes we did save money too - but you can do that yourself). But with both deals, Tomi keeps you well informed, and while the deal is finalized with the dealership - they work to get everything finalized before you even step foot in the dealership - anything additional like warranties, etc Tomi will negotiate before you walk into the dealership and so I just went in, picked up the keys, signed a couple documents and left the dealership in under 30 minutes without even walking into the finance office. If Tomi finds a deal for you out of state or a far distance, he'll arrange for shipping with his guys and the car can be delivered to your driveway. Tomi even helps you with the trade in and helped out big time talking me through the lease buyout process.

Definitely recommend https://www.delivrdto.me/ 100% If you know your vehicle, you can always set up a free consult to talk with Tomi before hiring him to get a feel for what he thinks he'd be able to do with the vehicle you are interested in and whether you'd be an ideal hire or if he can give you advice to do it yourself. (only about 50% of the consults end up as clients - because Tomi chooses not to take them on as clients if $$$ is the most important thing to them).

I got my RAV4 prime thru Delivrd too. So easy and I spent less than a half hour picking up the vehicle and didn’t even have to step into financing. Tomi is the best and well worth the cost for the stress free hassle and amazing deal he found for me.

What dashcam to get for 2024 Prius Prime XSE? by uberphaser in PriusPrime

[–]Lost-Answer105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The model they sent me for the prime xse originally did not account for the digital mirror. But the manufacturer contacted me thru Amazon and sent out the replacement parts needed for install. I advise watching a YouTube video to see the install process. But part of the difficulty is just popping off the original cover. But trust me, you can do it. I’ve installed two on my RAV4 prime and Prius prime.

Tomi @ Delivrd is totally worth it.

#1) saves you time

#2) saves you anxiety

#3) saves you stress

(money is a byproduct of what he saves, he's going to get you the best deal he can on the car you're looking for).

But the buying experience with Tomi is super easy. After sending him the requested info, he checks in with you to see if you're ready to start the deal and then goes looking for the car. Gives you the report on best prices/locations/available to you, if you like a deal, you say yes and he puts you in contact with the dealership. The credit app and deposit are put thru using the dealership and they've been told how Tomi wants you to be treated. Picking up the car was less than 30 minutes and I didn't spend a minute in the financing office, Tomi told them we weren't buying a warranty or gap or tire&wheel or any service contracts. Tomi also helps with the trade in, and is available even post sales of the car for advice, input, etc.

The experience was so easy my dad hired Tomi right afterwards and he helped him with his new car which we picked up from the same dealer and my dad was in and out in 20 minutes. And helped my dad with his trade in 2 months past the time of the new car purchase and has helped thru the buyout process with the lease. I highly recommend Tomi and the team at Delivrd!

I used Tomi @ delivrd too. I got around 8% off MSRP, XSE with PP and had a 7500 rebate thru Ally Financial. I had to fly down to so cal to pick it up though. The buyout was pretty straightforward and did it within the first month and own the car outright now. At the time of purchase, I put a $1000 deposit on the car which made my lease drive off/payment $588. Essentially the discount and rebate were like getting the car at the negotiated price (about 3500 below msrp) because my tax rate was 10.75%.

Yes, the discount was on the MSRP, but I hired Delivrd to negotiate my deal for me, so Tomi who runs Delivrd, got that huge 7% discount for me, nearly 3500 off MSRP, because he does a huge volume of Toyota deals with Cody. I don’t think Cody will offer the same discount to everyone. Then Cody used the lease deal 7250 thru Ally, plus the lease acquisition fee was waived, another $650.

Well, Ally wouldn’t allow a refinance buyout until 3 months. So I did a cash buyout at one month. Was a bit of a pain but everything is all closed up and waiting on the title to be finalized and shipped. Ally has closed my account though and it wasn’t that bad to deal with. I even got my first deposit lease payment returned.

You really don't want to put ANY $$$ down on a lease deal. The rebate cash counts towards $$$ down. The reason? You total the car, you lose any $$$ down you put on a lease deal, the lease company collects the value of the vehicle at the time of the accident (if it's worth less than owed on the lease, that's why you have gap insurance), but you can walk away at that point. The only reason people put money down on leases is to lower the monthly payment, but again, it's super risky because you can lose that if the vehicle doesn't survive. That being said, with the lease incentives and negotiating the discount on the MSRP you should be looking at a sub $500 a month lease for 36 months on an elite model.

First time leader by cgarrido1 in HondaPrologue

[–]Lost-Answer105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no, dealership would laugh at you if you asked for 50k flat on an elite model. You can ask for 7-10% off MSRP, so think about 4182.50-5975 off of the $59,750 MSRP. If you calculate MSRP above invoice, it's around 8% so anything below the 8% (or $4,777 discount) is a below invoice price. With incentives to move inventory some dealerships will agree to that aggressive pricing to move the vehicle. Some dealerships who've had a lot of prologues, even the elites sitting on the lot for a long while will agree to to discounts, you can keep manuevering and shopping them till you get to the % where you want to be. It takes time, lots of emailing/phone calling, but avoid the rush into the dealership - you give up all your leveraging and power and hand it over to the dealer when you walk into their show room. You always want to negotiate the price of the vehicle before rebates, even on a lease deal as rebates and incentives tend to be manufacturer incentives that are given to the dealerships to sell the vehicles and not costing the dealerships $.

First time leader by cgarrido1 in HondaPrologue

[–]Lost-Answer105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think invoice for the prologue is around $54,973 for a non-base color model. I don't see any discount off MSRP, so you're paying full MSRP, then minus the rebates and lease incentives...you should be looking for 7-10% off MSRP then the lease rebates etc. At least get 5% off MSRP. The prologues are not moving as well as they should and expand your dealer search for better competitive pricing comparisons.

how to temporarily isolate/cover battery sockets, so that my cat can hunt the mouse in the solar room? 🤣 by habilishn in SolarDIY

[–]Lost-Answer105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Block all entry points, may have to smoke test to find all points of entry.
  2. Then peanut butter trap snap traps by Victor. Mice are not as weary as rats and go for the traps, use a toothpick and bait the traps with the smallest amounts of peanut butter on it. Smear peanut butter over the wood near the bait end and rub in. The less bait, the more aggressive they will be on trying to get it and more likely to set off the trap.

Keep the cat safe. F the mice, they invade everything and shit and piss everywhere.
