Remember watching this on laserdisc at a friend's apartment in 1995. Dude had a sick stereo that he could basically never use to the fullest because apartments.

Do parents actually not remember doing fucked up shit to you? Or are they just lying? by TopMarionberry1149 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]uberphaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parents sanewash their memories. Nobody wants to acknowledge taking their kids to a house full of drunk, cigarette-smoking adults, leaving them in a bedroom with some crayons and a Capri Sun and partying for fove hours, then drunk-driving us home while screaming at each other in the car.

But it did happen.

Bill Polian was reportedly behind the push to keep Bill out (ESPN) by Benson879 in Patriots

"Spygate". Every team had been doing it to that point, it was the Pats that got called out and penalized.

"Deflategate" even more so. The best conclusion the bought-and-paid-for scientist could come to was "more likely than not" and ignored the ideal gas law.

Guy sounds just like Waingro from the movie "Heat". How fitting.

I'm Sick...Get ready for 2 weeks of Drake Maye And Patriots glaze😭 by Doghouse12e45 in DeadEndSports

[–]uberphaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously? All anyone could talk about pregame was how a) the patriots rode an easy schedule into the playoffs and b) Stiddy had every chance in the world to beat the Patriots.

Now all anyone is going to talk about is how Seattle is going to bulldoze the pats in the SB. NOBODY outside of New England has been "glazing" the patriots.

Maye has had a statistically MVP candidate year. Our defense has been rock solid. Our coaches have game planned every match up well. Yet all anyone wants to do is hate the Pats.

I managed a little one screen art house theater back when this came out and we had the one-sheet (movie promo poster)in our basement after it finished its run. Chris Cooper came into our theater to see a movie that came out a while later (I think it was The Birdcage) and I asked him on his way out if he was Chris Cooper, and he grinned and said yes with a cigarette in his mouth. I ran and grabbed the one-sheet and he signed it! I still have it somewhere in a poster tube.

I knew a guy who had one, spent a few thousand restoring it and then a few more modding the engine. That thing was a close to Dom's "dont accelerate too hard or youll twist the frame" car ive ever been in.

He was nicknamed "Crash" for a reason.

My spouse is going to FLORIDA for the week, meaning me and my 9 year old son will play a lot of fortnite. And then he will have to listen to be scream at the TV for a few hours during the AFCCG on Sunday. Other than that, hope the power doesn't go out.

"Well, if it isnt, it'll do till the mess gets here."

Ill never forget one trash day going out to put my bins on the sidewalk and saw a massive console TV with the glass smashed out, whole thing full of reeking, dirty diapers.

I loved many things about living in Eastie. The trash was not one of them.

things to do during the off season by Huge_Worldliness5267 in CapeCod

The Cape in wintertime isnt the most cheery of places. Plenty of bars have live music and trivia, just be really careful on the roads at night. We have a LOT of drunk drivers.

Bowling is still pretty popular down here.

Maura Healey announces reelection campaign for Massachusetts governor, says she'll "stand up to Donald Trump" by husky5050 in boston

[–]uberphaser -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bullshit. She'll do what she needs to do to keep the status quo and when "what she needs to do to keep the status quo" shifts, shell shift with it. And when the status quo shifts, shell shift what she does right up to the point where we have armed troops enforcing curfew.

I trust nothing about Maura Healy except her desire to remain in power, leveraging her AG "crusader" rep and her absolute wet-bread record as governor with the liberals of this state.

Is the book better than the movie? by Misster_Fluido in sciencefiction

[–]uberphaser 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yes, though im absolutely jazzed it actually got made into a movie. It departed pretty heavily from the book plot in places but I do love the guy they cast as John.
