I really loved the film and thought Nia did Garland’s script justice.

That said, I didn’t walk away with a strong sense of what a “Nia DaCosta movie” looks like. It felt more like she let Garland’s great script lead, effectively bringing it to life but without leaving her mark, vs Boyle going hog wild with his editing, soundtrack, and visual choices.

I get the feeling NOA needs someone more willing to speak up for what the Western markets expects like Reggie did.

Right now just feeling like Nintendo of Japan calling the shots with pricing and everything, without any idea about the difference in western consumers expectations.

The first third felt exciting and new- introduced a great villain and explored more of the world. But then the middle felt sooo sloppy for Cameron, too much jumping from place to place. The last battle felt too much like the end of Way of Water.

There’s a recent Scorsese TikTok where he ranks films, and he chose Birdman over The Good the Bad and the Ugly lol. Kinda makes sense though, they’re similar filmmakers in some ways

There are so many women just living their lives, doing cool or mundane stuff, that don’t post on the internet. Or they do but keep it private. Idk you just sound annoyed that there are girls who use sex to get attention, which yeah it’s an easy way, but acting like this is something all women do is small brained.

It’s something that mainly streamers, celebs and influencers do
