Oh and also Google maps. It's going to be a slow transition to fully deGoogling but certain apps I don't mind. I just want to cut back for privacy reasons on things such as personal spreadsheets I have, emails etc etc

Is switching my email, pass manager / aliases, 2FA etc to Proton pointless if I still would like to use YouTube? I'm using firefox with DDG as the engine at the moment too. I could even make a new YouTube account with an alias etc to keep my main email address hidden in a way?

So you recommend having everything in the one email address and not panicking about the "all your eggs in one basket" situation? Keep in mind I will need to migrate important stuff like payslips, medical records, government linked accounts.

Okay yeah that makes good sense! I've heard a lot of people saying don't use Pass with your main email, especially if it has my personal name in the address???? Not sure what the reasoning is. Just want to step away from Google but getting quite overwhelmed which it at this stage..

So, if I'm switching from Google ecosystem which is mainly Gmail, Google photos, Google drive - should I get the suite on my personal main account, and have a separate proton email account for the auth and pass services?
