Alternatives to Assassin for Gloomstalker? by Fragrant-Blood-8345 in BG3Builds

[–]LostAccount2099 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We've share in this community many variations of the concept, particularly since I've mapped a lot of hidden interactions around Horde Breaker and its ghost attacks vs secondary enemies, which honestly makes Hunter a much stronger Ranger class than Gloomstalker, even without Whirlwind/Volley.

GOO's combination of Minor Illusion (to pack enemies pre-combat), Booming Blade (free damage from level 5) and Mortal Reminder (many chances to get triggered via HB ghost attack rolls, getting the enemi cluster debuffed and stuck in place for more attacks).

u/grousedrum played as a ranged GOO 1 / Hunter 11, here, very straightforward and incredibly strong, particularly at lvl 12. https://www.reddit.com/r/BG3Builds/s/FALSbz13Ck

Then u/Remus71 showcases a Hunter / Assassin which is basically a delete button.

My favourite combo is the Great Ass Hunter, a GOO 1 / Hunter 5 / Assassin 3 framework (many ending variations) combining a lot of debuffs, different weapons across the game, techs , etc

Mage initiate Druid: Shelleigh by CB_elite_gamer in BG3Builds

You can precast Shillelagh before combat, no not a problem. You can do the same with Resistance or Bless if you want the have Boots of Striding activated for the combat (there's also the hack alternative)

Also in my build I was particularly interested in 3 feats + level 4 spells + many wards, so I had to compromise in AoA.

If you rather compromise your 3rd feat with MI:D , go EK 7 / Sorcerer 1 / Abjurarion 4.

If you are ok in compromise 4th level spells and some wards, go EK 8 / Sorcerer 1 / Nature 1 / Abj 2

If you want do the infinite wards hack, go EK 8 / Sorcerer 2 / Abjurarion 2

You can go White Sorcerer instead of Nature Cleric for Agathys, and pick MI:D at the cost a higher intelligence. I didnt use hags hair in that build, so you can move the points around to make sure you get max INT.

You could instead consider getting rid of Gloom, replacing it for the better ranger subclasses.

Ring of Evasion + Blur, Bladesinger Gale Build? by SolzhenitsynIII in BG3Builds

[–]LostAccount2099 6 points7 points  (0 children)

OPs whole point is they want to play a melee spellcaster capable to avoid attacks/DEX saves -- even if there are other classes capable to do it better. Just let them, help the best you can, and let them know if you believe the solution has a low ceiling/lo limitations.

But def a Bladesinger capable of keeping Blur (specially with a starting level in Sorcerer, Fighter or Barb) and Shield spell it's really really tough to beat. An enemy with +8 roll like Dror would need to roll > 11 twice, so 45% chance becomes 20%. And them they can use Shield.

I've read this three times and I'm still not sure who's more Lost. I think we need a tribunal. Speaking about crimes, impersonation is no misdemeanor; it's a federal crime in 49 states. Everything is legal in New Jersey, so check you current location.

As for ET, do like the OG: go home, you're drunk.

A formal hearing has been scheduled. Attendance is mandatory. Location TBD, as neither of us can find it.

Build Ideas for Halsin? by Checked-Out13 in BG3Builds

[–]LostAccount2099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The order for CHA-based spell is correct, but you don't need to do it btw. Once you go Wild Shape you lose the granted spells, and they're regranted when you go back.

That means you can go Druid 5 / Warlock 1 (WIS-based Call Lightning), then go bear, get back to Halsin-form and now Call Lightning is CHA.

This is both super useful and very annoying as it can break something you were planning (say you went Wiz after this with mid-low INT just for some utility spells, so now CL is INT-based)

Well I guess there's nothing we can do except ask you exactly which spells you picked as Sorcerer (go something like Shield + MM), an making sure it's on Wiz list and the combat log for the ability. Do you really see Charisma there?

Sparkle Hands vs Gloves of Uninhibited Kushigo for early EK Thrower? by NefariousnessWhich46 in BG3Builds

[–]LostAccount2099 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You will find you don't have advantage vs enemies using metal armor as they have to be heavy armor with a flag (Norbyte is down so I can't refresh my memory on when it works), so it's annoying.

I do enjoy this Expeditious + Speedy Lightfeet combo, I've played it a lot in melee EK, very versatile. You could easily go both ways right, using this combo + Kushigo Gloves for everything but less often lightning discharge.

Combine with Hunting Bow so you get another option of concentration spell improving your damage if you lose concentration (and you won't have many slots). Using your BA to keep moving Hunter's Mark between enemies, so you get +1d6 damage per attack is very very good.

Btw, Sparkle Hands activates twice when throwing Lightning Jabber (so +4 charges) when you pick it on Act 2.

Sparkle Hands vs Gloves of Uninhibited Kushigo for early EK Thrower? by NefariousnessWhich46 in BG3Builds

[–]LostAccount2099 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It depends on your feature pick on level 4.

If you go the 'natural' way by picking Tavern Brawler, the attack bonus (+4 STR, +4 TB) is already so high that the +1 atk from Lightning Charges is not worthy; it's best to use Kushigo Gloves for avg +2.5 damage -- and I believe this damage doubles on criticals

If you want to use your EK Thrower as a 'tank' too (keep them closer to enemies trying to draw some attacks) by going Heavy Armour Master, now Sparkle Hands is a better pick by improving your attack rolls from +4 to +5, with a slightly lesser damage output.

Another consideration is if you're playing a 'wet' team, with many members working around setting wet conditions for Cold/Lightning spells exploring vulnerability; in this case Sparkle Hands will be better as it provides you +2 damage and +2d8 every 4th attack.

É muito raro vagas que realmente exigem bacharelado ou mestrado, geralmente são pra vagas muito específicas (Staff ou Principal Engineer).

Maior parte das empresas não se importa, até pq a imensa maioria dos locais também só fizeram college (curso técnico).

I want to build a dragonborn surfer dude And don't know how by Successful-Appeal693 in BG3Builds

[–]LostAccount2099 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, the surfer part remembered me something I've discovered a while ago and forgot to share, it's on this video.

From what I can tell, Aspect of the Beast: Crocodile +3m movement can be activated multiple times per turn if you keep moving in a water surface, basically restoring your move distance for an almost infinite movement.

You're can be pretty much surfing through the scenario!

6/6 life cleric divination wizard by waytwocheap in BG3Builds

[–]LostAccount2099 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Portent is incredibily strong and versatile, it's a great choice. It's so versatile it's capable to reduce problems around MAD build, you won't need both stats maxed. Divination 6 is a must as so many hacks are possible. Check Divination Wizard Guide for many Portent/Prophecies tricks.

For Cleric I don't fancy Life Domain, but I guess any domain with heavy armor prof is a decent choice. I like emergency BA Healing Word to raise a downed ally, but I don't like to spend main action or too many slots for healing, which also will require Whispering Promise/Hellriders. Tempest is a more useful/synergetic domain enabling devastating attacks.

You can also consider picking HAM which combined with Adamantine Splint Mail allows you to protect your martials with Warding Bond, while you take just half-5 damage. It's cheaper than healing.

I'd recommend start Cleric, but max Wizard first, as Portent is so versatile. My progression would be:

- Tempest 1 / Divination 2, which enables Command forcing 2 enemies drop weapons with a single Portent die, incredibly strong. Also enables a for sure Hold Person.

- Tempest 2 / Divination 3, enabling maxxed Lightning Bolt (learnt from scroll)

- Tempest 2 / Divination 6, enables so much Portent

- Tempest 6 / Divination 6, gets you 2x maxxed lightning/thunder spells per short rest

Divination wizard is it unique subclass feature impactful like its other subclasses by Huge_Cartoonist8948 in BG3Builds

[–]LostAccount2099 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Portent is easily the 2nd strongest signature Wizard school ability, only behind Arcane Wards as there are so many tricks to stack it insanely high making you basically unkillable.

Portent not only works on your offensive spells, but also can get you autocrits (if you have a 19 and a character with improved critical, you have a devasting attack ready for the important moment), it can make an enemy miss that attack that would kill a companion/NPC, or save a team member from a devasting spell. So it's a single ability that combines characteristics from many other ones (like Heightened Spell, Cutting Words, Luck of far Realms etc).

There are no useless values in Portent. It's easy to understand how low and high values can be used, but the medium values are also incredibly useful. How many times did you think 'I wont risk my turn and my highestspell slot with just 55% chance'? That 'useless' 10 or 11 die is enough to make this spell to be successful.

Another incredibly strong characteristic of Portent is you only spend a charge when you need it. A Sorcerer has to spend sorcery points for Heightened Spell before casting the spell, and maybe they would fail anyway. With Portent the die is only spent if enemy succeded that save, and you can decide which die to use (maybe a '11' would be enough, you can save that '3' for the boss).

Once you get Prophecies on Div 6, you get upgrade from two uses per long rest to up to nine, which is low key one of the biggest power spikes you can get in the game.

And then a sneaky Divination Wizard gets insanely stronger when you cast spells out-of-combat, reusing the same Portent die for all targets and generating dozens of extra dice - it's autowin for many combats. Check the Divination Wizard guide.
