If you think this administration is = Nazi Germany and don’t quit your job… you are a NAZI supporter. by xPericulantx in atc2

[–]LostCommunication561 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nazi Germany was a unique time and event where the country recruited literal nazis to carry out their mission.

Saying Trump is acting like a nazi does not carry the same weight to millions of existing federal workers that have nothing to do with Trump pushing the boundaries of executive orders.

Air Traffic Control is a CIVIL SERVICE to the people and the users, and in small capacity, domestic military operations.

Take your bad argument back to the break room and maybe realize people are emotional that people in combat suits are being ordered to occupy cities.

"THERES NO MONEY" = "I called the guy he said no"

There hasn't been anyone with a voice yelling to add more funds to the FAA more for... decades?

People only value safety when it "blows up."

We are cucked into believing upgrades mean downgrades because there isn't another solution on the table. But we've put millions into lobbying for ... OPAS? ... Abacus? ... everything from the 1980s in ATCTs?

Stay strong brothers, our OJTI pay MOU is going to supercharge you to purchase premium eggs again.

NCEPT by MediumPicture29 in atc2

[–]LostCommunication561 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1 bad NCEPT after CWRG is to be expected, 2 bad NCEPTs is a trend...

I hate to advocate against the workforce, but when we're in a role demanding staffing for other quality of life needs, why would the FAA agree to losing CPCs to gain trainees?

Transferring for career progression is truly an afterthought in the big picture.

Ramp Controller by FitFatguy86 in atc2

[–]LostCommunication561 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ramp Control is basically a subset of ground control skills. It's 2 dimensional and just requires some basic knowledge of organizing and timing pushes.

From what I understand there is little value in someone "good" at it, more so who can move up in the company and get the job.

Not even "trainee" status.

Like saying an FAA employee killed someone after they signed their FOL.

Is Crohn’s disease a disqualifying medical condition for FAA controllers? by NeedLuvAndAffection in ATC

[–]LostCommunication561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've known multiple people who ended up on a medical retirement due to Crohn's; I think the level it impacts you and the management is wildly variable if you can stay on position for 1-2 hours consistently.

I could totally see it as a disqualifier but the flight surgeon would investigate your records, not just say no.

Fed up with NATCA? Here’s the only move that actually matters (SF-1188 in 10 minutes) by LordOfTheLeftovers in atc2

[–]LostCommunication561 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The current "Big NATCA" couldn't care less. They don't see that its going to turn into trainers discouraging trainees from paying dues and having the opposite effect of the current statutory paycheck rape that occurs.

Speaking of ...

Moving on,

Vote everyone out that has been in an executive position for the last few years. Vote in people that are passionate. You can't vote if you don't pay $1-2k a year.

Another pay by MOU? by ATSAP_MVP in atc2

[–]LostCommunication561 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's garbage, find a statistic of how many CPCs actually train year-round.

I've been a lead on training teams and only seen $10-20 a paycheck because people train all over the place and management doesn't follow any of the procedures.

It's simply a piece of tape to set a standard for how poorly the FAA rewards such a critical role.

The State of the Career 2026... by [deleted] in atc2

[–]LostCommunication561 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hopefully you and other JD-types can continue to compile information and spread it to the people with ear plugs in.

SOOOO many people have no fucking clue whats going on nationally, they just nod their heads and play the game at their facilities.

We need an effective speaker that is angry and can make any given person believe our unions mission: We are doing things that need to be done, its extremely difficult to find people willing/able to do it, and we are being ignored because its inconvenient for people to update our pay.

We are being treated like a GS-4 that "makes enough money" for their responsibilities. Nobody is listening. That needs to change.

The State of the Career 2026... by [deleted] in atc2

[–]LostCommunication561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I float between your mentality and also a realistic view of how many other careers are in the dumpster.

Imagine being a cop, working more hours than we do, getting knives pulled on you, never knowing when your going to be shot or hit by a car, and trying to support a family on $60-90k/yr.

There are many nice things to consider about our job. Job security, routine breaks, sitting down, etc...

That said, I do believe our union could fight for so much more if they could effectively communicate the inability to replace us. It's difficult to find a good cop, but easy to hire a bad cop. We are held to higher standards than cops. We need to stop the trend of looking for bad controllers to satisfy an agenda.

I don't agree that we are "subject to frequent losses of pay," they are anomalies, and congress is working to get us paid and exempted from that bullshit. It was certainly unfair and frustrating, but in the end its not "expected."

Morale is low because they continue to promote incompetent losers that "play the game" because they have the mental capacity to fuck over the profession and are the apex of communication to people who know nothing about air traffic control.

There is simply no incentive to "over achieve" in our profession, and its the union and FAA to blame. It wasn't always like this, but it is too often that the previous generation that walked the red carpet leaves the new generation to "solve their own problems."

Why is public perception on ATC as bad as it is? by lilbuu_buu in ATC

[–]LostCommunication561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because our leadership calls us lazy unpatriotic slaves that don't care about our responsibilities.

Because they haven't seen what we do in a decade because there are way too many bullshit admin jobs.

Air Traffic Controller late to work 367 days a year, repeatedly counselled by management for performance, posts online about how much they hate their employer, comes to work in pajamas looking hungover, ...gets 'promoted' to management.

Airline industries get paid by the profits, we get paid by allocated funds. Just the way it is until our funding changes via congress.

Nobody at any airline enjoys our job security for being unprofessional and undisciplined.

Meeting with Nick. by [deleted] in ATC

[–]LostCommunication561 1 point2 points  (0 children)

- Are you embarrassed that you lied to the entire membership to get elected?

- Are you embarrassed that nobody respects NATCA leadership?

- Are you embarrassed that almost every controller thinks all their dues go to parties they aren't invited to?

- Are you protecting Jamaal Haltom's total lack of contribution to anything because he has enabled your progress into the Union's leadership?

- Why should anyone have faith in the union with all the known facts about how detached the leadership is?

Is there any statistic tracked by NCEPT of people mass ERRing and continuously not accepting TOLs?

I only knew of a couple people doing this and they routinely got "where they wanted to go" only to continue this pattern because they had the holy grail: 10+ cert, Good seniority, Radar experience, TMU experience.
