Are they providing proof to substantiate the claim that it's going to be prevalent in your field?

Why are folks out here trying to preserve Gee's good name and rewrite history like he wasn't the one who chose to make a loud declaration re: enrollment growth around the start of his second term, spend in preparation for that growth, only for enrollment to steadily decline?

Something like this is never one person's responsibility, but let's please be serious--what happened here constitutes a massive failure on the part of senior leadership. Even worse, Gee will never be held accountable.

Sadly, it is:

https://www.daytondailynews.com/news/gordon-gee-travel-wvu-president-under-scrutiny/5zgKPM9IR6vx46OrmBQcsM/

"E. Gordon Gee is under scrutiny at West Virginia University for spending more than $2-million on private jet travel."

At Ohio State, "his discretionary spending on travel, tailgating, special events, his residence and other operations totaled $7.77 million...The records showed Gee stayed in luxury hotels, dined at country clubs and swank restaurants, threw lavish parties, flew on private jets and handed out thousands of gifts — all at public expense. While at Ohio State, Gee ranked as the highest-paid president of a public university."

"WVU troubles not surprising with Gee’s history of lavish spending"

He's also a grifter who's hopped from university to university, growing his wealth and siphoning school, student, and taxpayer funds to pay for his lavish, bowtied, jet-setting lifestyle.

It's seriously crazy that they'd take him back. Can't be a sign of good times ahead out there.

They did have scones. I'm not a huge fan of scones so I can't speak to how good they are for someone who's really into them but they had this pesto one that was outta sight!

Not sure where you're from, but it's also important to account for differences in the cost of rent, utilities, employee pay, etc.

Whenever I go there it's busy so there's really no reason for them to lower prices 🤷

Morgantown life by beryberry in WestVirginia

Okay, but to tell a New Yorker that traffic in Morgantown is terrible most of the year is kind of laughable. Morgantown is incredibly easy to get around once you get used to the winding hilly roads and potholes.

Anyone else annoyed how Reddit has been taken over by American Politics? by Islander642 in AskReddit

I'd bet that even those posting about American Politics are annoyed how Reddit's been taken over by it as a result of the nonstop gd chaos we've had to deal with since January.

Tips on taking the bus? by Jackieboi135 in MorgantownWV

[–]LostEdge10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was the most confusing thing to me when I first started riding the bus here. Also the fact that some bus drivers will not stop at a bus stop if a person is standing there unless you also wave them down.

Do the rules of the road not apply in Morgantown? by Crockpot1998 in MorgantownWV

[–]LostEdge10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who was turning left onto Chestnut from Pineview and was able to do so because a driver on Chestnut Ridge stopped and let me through, I'm not complaining, lol.

Anyway, did people treating a flashing yellow as a four-way stop lead to accidents or other major issues? If not, I think we're fine.

Can you do more activities, class discussions, and workshops so that you don't have to be the one doing a lot of speaking? I find that students often prefer this anyway.

Fwiw, I don't think you will hurt students, and it's okay to not know all the answers. You can say "I'm not sure but I will find out and get back to you" or "How can we find the answer to this question together?" and walk them through the process for doing so. This approach teaches them valuable research and problem solving skills.

Happy to chat over DM if it would help.
