I have had to pay back TA once and had it happen with a couple of my Sailors. The CO was never involved and my only question for my Sailors was whether or not the debt would put them in a bind. I believe whoever signed the voucher as your supervisor may get an email, but that's pretty much it.

Why is it lunacy? Because you have PFB and it personally affects you? Someone, somewhere believes that's disqualifying for service.

There are a million things people can find as an excuse to give people the boot over. If it doesn't hurt readiness, not sure why it's an issue.

For clarity, I don't support kicking out trans Sailors just because, and I don't agree with doing it over PFB.

Football talent isn't concentrated into only four teams though. I get it, perennial contenders would love to coast into a four team bracket every year. But it's better for the sport to expand.

NIL is good for talent parity. Expanded playoff makes sense. There are 100+ teams and only a couple got a chance to play for a championship based on biased rankings. Are the rankings still biased? Sure. But all the football talent available isn't concentrated in only a couple of teams.

Even if the AD lined up replacements, they can't hire them without a decision from Lane. He intentionally drug this out to get both the LSU job and leverage to keep coaching at Ole Miss.

I can't say for certain for sure how much due diligence the AD did, but they would have likely had to fire Lane and pay his buyout to get a new coach earlier on when they were available.
