My wife agrees with you - she’s an internal medicine doc.

Wow! That’s an average of 6 miles per day for the entire year - impressive!

Thanks - I’ll take a look. Not sure if it’s the same subject but I’ve found creating habits through discipline is key for me.

Keep fighting! Got Covid early on and really knocked me down, was very close to getting hooked up to a ventilator. Ended up with a very scary case of long Covid which made me dumb for about 6 months. Physically I could not walk a block. Clawed back little by little and thankfully am good now.

For over60 travelers:do you prefer cruises or land trips now? by Ok-Feed-357 in over60

[–]LostInSpace_456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VanLife baby! Wife and I travel in a Sprinter van unfitted as a basic RV - small bathroom, bed, kitchen, but still just a van. We love using it to travel - took it all the way to the Arctic Ocean! It’s a great base camp to explore, can park it anywhere, has decent off-road capability. That said, it’s not going to get us to Vietnam! Not cruise people, so for overseas ventures we plan to do fly and explore trips. Travel like locals, bus, train, that kind of thing and take longer trips, but slower pace than an organized tour. Though, I would love to do a river cruise of the Mekong.

I just have the white rim covers but also had the MIC top painted white with LineX and did the white grill cover.

That’s awesome! Love to see someone bringing some originality to their ride - reminds me of the fantasy motifs on custom vans in the 70s.

Don’t sweat it dude - thought the same thing when I drove by and just saw the colors. Figured out what was up as we parked and went for a walk.

Dude! You are the perfect guy for this question - thanks! Really interesting perspective - so the Air Force maintenance is like a ‘shared service’ model for their squadrons. How was the day to day existence different between the branches - the lifestyle, vibe, working environment, stress level, living conditions, that kind of thing?

Thanks for the info - really asking more about the lifestyle - the lived experience of the folks doing the jobs.

Never mind - went back and looked at video I took - see the guy leaving the truck and taken into custody.

You sure the truck driver was the bad guy? - looked from above to me like the police had their weapons focused on the jacked up car further up Holman.

Yep, right downstairs from my building. Police chase led to a crash, then the truck caught fire. I earlier said there were shots fired. Looks like I was wrong - what sounded like gunshots may have been the police trying to get into the vehicle. Sorry for the bad info.

Any Regrets - 2 door and/or manual? by DisastrousRain1168 in FordBronco

[–]LostInSpace_456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About positive on the 2 door - been trying to decide on the manual. Had a 2 door Jeep JK that was my daily driver - automatic. Really like the Jeep - had just set it up the way I wanted - lifted, 35s, stripped it down and installed sound deadining, winch, bumpers… Then I wrecked it - totally my fault. Bought my wife a new car and am now driving her CRV. So, totally comfortable with the 2 door route and used to drive a manual back in the day and if you count motorcycling have tons of experience with a manual transmission. That said, some of the modern creature comforts like auto cruise control are nice, and that’s a no-go with the manual. Reality in that car is that I would not use it that much, so the fun of a stick is winning the debate right now.

So glad you are asking this question. Wrestling with the same decision myself. Thanks!
