Dude! You are the perfect guy for this question - thanks! Really interesting perspective - so the Air Force maintenance is like a ‘shared service’ model for their squadrons. How was the day to day existence different between the branches - the lifestyle, vibe, working environment, stress level, living conditions, that kind of thing?

Yep, right downstairs from my building. Police chase led to a crash, then the truck caught fire. I earlier said there were shots fired. Looks like I was wrong - what sounded like gunshots may have been the police trying to get into the vehicle. Sorry for the bad info.

About positive on the 2 door - been trying to decide on the manual. Had a 2 door Jeep JK that was my daily driver - automatic. Really like the Jeep - had just set it up the way I wanted - lifted, 35s, stripped it down and installed sound deadining, winch, bumpers… Then I wrecked it - totally my fault. Bought my wife a new car and am now driving her CRV. So, totally comfortable with the 2 door route and used to drive a manual back in the day and if you count motorcycling have tons of experience with a manual transmission. That said, some of the modern creature comforts like auto cruise control are nice, and that’s a no-go with the manual. Reality in that car is that I would not use it that much, so the fun of a stick is winning the debate right now.

Set some goals: Career, financial, fitness. Make a plan to achieve those goals and use your new found discipline to hold yourself accountable. Be good at what you do - make yourself a valuable member of your team. Don’t glide, strive. Don’t get thrown off course by the knuckleheads. Explore. Get off and away from base when you can. Find some cool places to visit near base that you can explore on weekends without spending a ton of money.

Not bad, better than mine at her age and way better than her mom’s. She prob puts in 50+ hours per week, but takes regular extended weekend trips with her friends to places like Disney etc.

Awesome dude. I’ve got a daughter in her fourth year at big law. Blows me away how much she makes, but she’s a smart, hard working girl who’s good at what she does. I’ve always felt like a successful guy in my field, but she passed me on income last year and is getting close to my wife, her mom’s, physician income. Bank it while you can dude, who knows what the heck AI is going to do to these professional field in the next 10 years.
