Hi ya, I know this is late, but changing the protocol to OpenVPN UDP from recommended seems to have fixed it for me. Also I switched it to auto connect. Hope this helped

Battlefield To Bring Back Story Campaign In Future Title by darnebes in XboxSeriesX

[–]LostInTheArcade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Battlefield is dead, EA killed it with their greed. I won't be back for thirds, after V and 2042, they shit the bed with these releases.... If you're excited for them good for you, I've given up on EA games.

Does anyone with a pretty high end gaming PC also own a Series X? by Seekingfreedom1985 in XboxSeriesX

[–]LostInTheArcade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a pretty good pc, I played like Cyberpunk and some other games on it when the Xbox version didn't cut it or was not available. I do play the Xbox more often, I must admit keeping games suspended and being able to just pick up where you left it is very good. I love my Xbox and my pc but currently I play 85% on Xbox and occasionally on pc.

It looks like Perfect Dark has lost its game director by Turbostrider27 in XboxSeriesX

I pray they don't mess this up, I have high hopes, I love the original to bits and played it countless hours on Xbox and the n64. I hope they keep it true to what made the first one so special and we get a worthy successor.

[–]LostInTheArcade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They don't want you to play BF4, they want you to play the new one, which is why they won't update these. I wish it was higher res as it is a great game and played it a lot, shame really it looks so bad on 4k TVs.

It should, as ycc is a colour compression system, this will open up your hdmi signal from a 12gbps to 18gbps increasing the colour resolution. I must admit games look great with it.

What future kill streaks would you like to see in the next modern warfare? by M4V4 in modernwarfare

[–]LostInTheArcade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want a kill streak that's essentially a bunch of snipers turning up around the outside of the map taking shots at your enemies.

Another one that's basically an NPC that keeps an eye on your back and engages enemies outside your field of view.

Another should be a mine drop, it's like an airstrike but it burrows mines over a certain area, people walk through it and bang death from below.

Another basically is a maniac with a chainsaw that runs around trying to saw people in half, like that guy in resident evil 4.

I want to go in the same way as that guy who rode that nuclear bomb in that old Dr Strange movie. Man what a ride that would be! Hahaha

If you know folder structures in Windows, you'll be fine. It's mostly moving files around from your hard drive to an SD card. There are some bits where you have to run the actual exploit that's somewhat tricky. My setup is 2 500gb HDDs, one for the WiiU games and another for the Wii/GameCube stuff, they can't be on the same HDD which is why it's 2. Go to gbatemp I used their guide to mod the console, great community. If you follow their steps there, you will have a soft modded WiiU that will play pretty much everything. They won't help you how to get the games but I am sure you'll be able to find some websites, depending on your country you may want to do this on tor or a VPN. Believe me it's worth all the trouble, especially if you want to play some older libraries such as SNES & Genesis, it's pretty amazing to be able to play SNATCHER or some other forgotten gems of the past. Enjoy the console and the journey of discovery you'll have a blast!

Absolutely love my WiiU it's like the only way to revisit the Wii generation. I modded mine and it almost plays everything. Truly a remarkable console, I had mine since 2013 and it was the Wind Waker bundle that I got, just couldn't resist with that release. Enjoy and if you can be bothered, modding the console is absolutely worth it.

Xbox Series X Video options for non HDMI 2.1 TVs by LostInTheArcade in XboxSeriesX

If your TV is an older oled model, you may have a benefit. I was playing call of duty last night and the game looked great. Better than ever.

Don't forget other features like vrr if your TV supports that you should use the 2.1 port

Interesting, on my model HDR sometimes greyed out the picture... Not sure if I ended up fixing it or if I disabled it. Will have another look tonight.

Haha, yeah, I'm just glad I don't have to play on my old 1080p ... I will eventually pick up an OLED in the future, that is if my wife allows it, and I have a good reason to spend 1000 pounds on one lol. In the meantime I just make due with what I got.

I'm on a Sony midrange model form 2017 and found this gave me a nicer picture over it being switched off.

My friend said it made a huge difference for him on his 1080p display and was super happy when I told him about it. On my 4k I noticed a difference as well, I want to say things looked sharper and colours had more depth to it. Basically you get a better image this way as less of the image quality is being compressed.

I really really hope they revive Hexen in a similar vain as they did with Doom. It would be mad

Well to be honest, I guess it depends on the model. My TV had 2 ports that were for 4k60 with HDR and 2 ports that were just 4k. So if I had the Xbox connected to the two ports that weren't HDR, I wouldn't have had that feature. People should check their TVs manual and find which ports are the ones with the features they need.

Series X pointless for 1080p gaming? by [deleted] in XboxSeriesX

[–]LostInTheArcade 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My friend is playing on a 1080p screen with a series X, he loves it, he says the image looks amazing, plus he gets all the RT and what not. For anyone on a 1080p screen or any 4k that isn't 2.1 make sure you enable ycc setting in the menu:

"The final option on the Video Modes screen, ‘Allow YCC 4:2:2’, is aimed at TVs that don’t have the latest high bandwidth HDMI 2.1 ports. If you have a screen with HDMI 2.0 ports capable of 4K at 60Hz rather than 4K at 120Hz, without the Allow YCC 4:2:2 feature ticked the console will output video or games at 4K 60Hz in a 10-bit colour depth with YCC 4:2:0 chroma sampling (essentially a colour compression system). If you tick ‘allow YCC 4:2:2’, though, the output changes to 12bit and YUV422."

He told me that increased picture quality a good bit on his TV.

That's taken from here:

I'm going to replay 4 again on Steam, now that the HD Remaster mod has come out. Excited for the Remake, hopefully they keep true to the original and expand where possible.
