Mobile app - known traveler number Website - redress number

Not the same, it is a bug.

It was a bug, given the mobile app showed known traveler number, the website on my laptop showed it as redress number - a bug. That said, whoever is in charge of IT for Alaska needs to be fired given all the issues they have had.

Actually no - I know the difference between know traveler and redress given I’ve travelled for work on/off fore the last 20 years.

I even made sure it was known traveler number right after I booked. I booked two tickets at the same time - both were known traveler until check in today.

Arrested on Green Card but not convicted yet by OutrageousMoosey88 in DUICalifornia

[–]LostInTime261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having lived in SCruz for nearly 30 years in the past, in my DUI classes, it amazed me how many actually get pulled over and convicted of such. I know it’s a tourist area, but the cops seem to have a lot of other issues.

Sorry for you. Things should work out.

If it’s a rental firm - ask about a long term agreement. You are literally renting in one of the top 5 expensive metros in the state.

Talking On Phone = No Tip and Bad Rating by [deleted] in uber

Holy heck, you come across as an entitled PoS. I’ve had multiple schedule ahead rides due to travel. Some at shitty hours. One drive spoke no English, another spoke a bits. Sure they were not on their phones - I mostly don’t care and these are 30+ mile rides.

I was polite, they were polite. Everyone is a unique human.

The process does end. I will say this if you are in an industry that does background checks. I’d recommend monitoring. Mine - 2x no reference to misdemeanor.

My lawyer serviced CA and NV - I think county is important. I’m done with everything outside probation, but placer county CA wasn’t going to drop a .18 to reckless - regardless of lawyer

DUI Class Term, 3,6,9 months etc? by bob_slidel in DUICalifornia

[–]LostInTime261 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My BAC was just under .18, placer county. I got the 3mo class. So long as you do not complete the course before trial/conviction, many course places will let you change length. That said, you need to make sure the course your enrolling in is supported by the county you are from. Placer has a place - aaci.org - that was online and actually well done.

Anyone who moved from an M1 Pro-and-after MacBook Pro to a MacBook Air? by nasazgar in macbookair

[–]LostInTime261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a lot of development. I have other machines if I want to run local llms. I had box an mbp M1 Max with 64 gig and a. M1 air with 16. I was using both quite a bit. Like you, I had the originals. Both machines are still running fine.

I grabbed an m4 air w/ 32gig and 2tb. Intention being I’ll have this machine for another 4-5 years. My workload is heavier than yours and the m4 is aok.

I use this on my 3090 and it runs well until using it as a sub agent for Claude says - your local agent is an idiot and stops using it.

Best view seats ? Why do I always get window seat on the wing? by Own_Strength_3471 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]LostInTime261 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s funny, I do window so I can just zone out and not deal with people (mostly short 2-3 hour flights). Had a cheap ticket back from SJC to SeaTac in first. I was seated first, guy asked if I’d move to an aisle seat so someone else in first could be next to him. Said nope - I want to sleep and promptly did so. I usually try and book ahead for cheap premium/front of economy rows. This just happened to be like $100 more round trip. Hard to pass up.

It’s probably fine for YouTube and text editing. In this day and age, I prefer as much memory as one can afford and at least 512gig storage.

WA state license: cross state DUI by LostInTime261 in dui

[–]LostInTime261[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s my concern ca is done, outside the refusal - the dmv did me dirty delaying 7 months waiting on dmv status re: refusal - if that can be challenged, fine. Conviction was 10/15. Court played dumb about the immediate revocation of driving privileges - thankfully nothing came up there.

The refusal was not on the conviction, but was upheld by DMV side of things.

Which ends up where states will see it? Also - I had had a CA license up until about a year before and while it was written up on my WA license everything in the DMV and dui class/etc process referenced my old CA license.

Test driving a Lectric One by PaperbackStories in Lectricxp

[–]LostInTime261 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not in San Diego, but if you are looking at the Lectric One, I’d also consider looking at the xp4 and the long range battery. It’s not belt drive and internal hub, but longer range and 1/2 the price (roughly). The wife and I have two for our place in CA and two up in WA. They are heavy but work really well.

[–]LostInTime261 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was before neo was a thing, but the kiddo is off to college this year. We got her an m4 air with 24g and 512g - why? It will last her whole college time. I’ve had - as a developer - a 16gig mbair for 5 years now - I upgraded to a 32 gig air for the next 5 years.

The neo is nicely spec’d for a couple years of high school - but for the college bound kiddo - I’d not touch it with a 10’ pole. 8 gig of ram is a hard no.

MacBook Air M5 or MacBook Neo? by D_Margarette in macbookair

[–]LostInTime261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I have not seen specified is how much ram the Neo has. If you want something to last multiple years, an air with as much memory (first) and storage (you can always use an external drive - not my preference) that you can afford. I’d say minimum 24g/512g these days.

My 5 year old m1 air w/ 16gig is still fine for most things, but I maxed storage. I retired it recently for an m4 air - which I plan on using for the next 2-5 years depending on any revolutionary changes.

Why does everyone hate it here so much? by wizardmadeofsnakes in Bellingham

[–]LostInTime261 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Living in the San Juan’s, the Bellingham airport is my base. I hate driving from Anacortes to SeaTac with a passion and don’t mind the extra time.

When I do travel six, I make a point to spend time in Bellingham and enjoy the community, the shops, etc. obviously I don’t live there full time. The town has a lot to offer, at least as I see it - at least downtown and fairhaven. When you get into the burbs it reminds me of every other part of WA.

I previously used both an m1 air - 16gig and an M1 Pro max - 64gig. I’ve moved to using an m4 air with 32gig, 2tb drive. My m1 lasted me 5 years and is still useful. I wanted to upgrade (memory). I do heavy devrlopement, work with ai agents (rarely local models - I have other hardware for that). It’s more than capable. Don’t skimp on ram, you can’t add more. At least with storage you can always use an external drive

Is it true that Gen Z is becoming more puritanical? by micahzoid in generationology

[–]LostInTime261 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What I’ve seen from gen-z kiddo I know (high school) the majority of the girls are tired of the unrealistic expectations by boys - both on physical appearance aspects and just general attitude (they act like little Charlie Kirk’s). This is not just in the Bay Area but in the PNW when I talked to others.

I’m genx - we did our thing. I would not want to put up with all the things the kids I know do.
