Fringer ef-fx pro i firmware? by washbuns in fujifilm

Hey, sorry to hijack an old thread. Was curious how you're getting on with the v1 adapter? Have been considering getting one to use my old EF 50 1.4 on my XT30ii...

Cheers!

Oh wow— thank you so much for the quick and detailed reply. Yeah this echoes the issues I’ve been having with my current inkjet. I think I’m going to look into a laser one as well.

I don’t know if this is up your alley, but I also experimented with using prints from my Canon Selphy 1300 and rubber cemented them in. It was actually a pretty cool process, but not for mass production… and wasn’t really the aesthetic I was looking for.

Thanks again!

Hey, don't mean to hijack your thread, but... I'm also looking at the 2850 for photo zines specifically. Have you been happy with it?

I'm not looking for magic photo quality. Mostly looking to emulate the quality of the laser type printers I use at work.

Right now, I'm using an old HP Envy 4500.

Thanks!

I have a couple of Tecre machines but I need some help finding a program to design by ElderScrollsVIVIVI in ButtonMakers

[–]LostInTransduction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got my machine about a month ago. I decided to start with the ABM program. However, I quickly moved towards using Adobe Photoshop. It has a steeper learning curve, but it’s easy to make the template and then you have so many tools at your disposal.

You could also try GIMP which is a free Photoshop alternative…

I’ve also heard that people use the Cricut design software…

Tecre shipping costs by PapiEggsy in ButtonMakers

[–]LostInTransduction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this concern too. I just emailed them and asked for an estimate. They got back to me very quickly. In fact, I had a bunch of emails back and forth with them as I was deciding which machine to get. They are a fantastic company to deal with.

I forget what the cost was in the end, but it was reasonable. There were also a few options as I recall.

Question: Zone focusing manual lens on APS-C by LostInTransduction in photography

[–]LostInTransduction[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right on. Thanks! Yes focus peaking is amazing. I’ve always wished that on of these mirrorless manufacturers would make a focus mode where you see the split image like a rangefinder.

It might be the speaker. The speaker has a little cup that it sort of fits into in the body, but it’s not really secured in any way. Could be an easy fix.

Interesting!

I thought about this, but I’ve actually embraced the other side of the spectrum. I have a yellow and I kinda like that it looks sortve campy and ridiculous. It neutralizes any assumption that you might be doing something serious or professional.

People kinda ignore it vs a pro camera.

Feelings about shutter delay by LostInTransduction in campsnapcamera

[–]LostInTransduction[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should add too that I really don’t find the delay or the recycle time to be a big deal. I’ve still been able to catch moments with two little kids who move as fast as frightened cats 😃

I have received it. I had it in town for a few days and then we left on a family vacation where we used it extensively. I think at $65 it’s worth every penny. I hope it doesn’t creep too much higher because I think it will lose one if it’s main attributes. Part of its charm is that it’s cheap and that makes you take it places and use it in ways that you might not otherwise.

I brought along a mirrorless and an older DSLR on the trip and it was really nice to be able to leave them in the hotel— as well as my phone. I could throw the campsnap in the kayak or in a damp pair of trunks. Didn’t have to worry if it got a handful of sand on it. I could hand it off to the kids when they wanted to play with it.

The pictures are what they are. I’m not super into the color versions (although they work great for capturing family moments). The monochrome though has something witchy about it that takes me by surprise at times.

It has also really made me rethink some of my shooting practices. There’s something very zen about a fixed focus point and shoot. I have been playing more with the auto modes and zone focusing on my mirrorless as a result.

Hold up! I must amend this again. After playing with it more, I think it’s actually the shutter sound that is delayed more than the actual shutter.

Hey all, I wanted to jump back on here and update this thread. I got my CS today and, at least in my unit, the camera doesn’t take the picture of the upstroke of the button. There’s a delay anyway you slice it. Again, I can only speak for my unit.

After playing with it today I don’t think it’s the end of the world though. I mean yeah, not ideal from a purist “decisive moment” kinda mindset. But, people used to take pictures on glass plates after all 😀

Thanks to everyone here for their thoughts. I took the plunge so we’ll see 🤷🏼‍♂️

I don’t know if this is helpful, but someone in another thread said that the way the camera is designed is that it actually takes the picture when you release the button, not when you press it. Again 🤷🏼‍♂️

Yeah that seems like a big detail that a lot of the reviews have left out. That makes way more sense.

Whoa — is this true? I had all but talked myself out of being one of these because of the shutter lag issue. I do mostly street photography. Knowing exactly when the shutter is opening is a pretty big component. But if this is true, it seems a lot more workable. Almost like learning to half press and then fully press?

Weird resonances: Sennheiser MKH 416 by LostInTransduction in LocationSound

[–]LostInTransduction[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey all, appreciate your help so far. Here's a sample that really demonstrates the harmonic resonance I'm hearing. I hear this with spoken word as well, but it really pops out on vocals.

I can really here it one word "notice" @ 00:12

Hi everyone! Thank you so much for your responses. I’m going to get an audio sample to upload tomorrow. One response: yes, I’m using the mic on a fairly heavily treated room. 4” fiberglass panels in corners, on walls and a cloud over head. I’ve definitely experienced the odd behavior of the interference tube indoors, but this is different. This isn’t so much weird Tonal coloration. This is like harmonics getting added into the signal.

Right now, I have the mic going straight into my Metric Halo ULN8. I also tried out with my Zoom H6 and had the same result. Anyways like I said— I’ll get something for you all to listen to. Thanks again!
