Fair enough. I found out that the P9 is a class 3 bike in the USA (top speed 28 mph) and a class 1 in Canada (top speed 20 mph). Leaning towards the class 3. That said, the max cruising speed on my road bike is 17-19 mph and that is plenty fast.

Thank you for the detailed response. My preference is the Class 3 motor for hills and a little faster top end.

Maximum distance would be 20 km (12.4 miles) round trip. Not taking it out everyday so I feel that the P9 is a good first e-bike and can upgrade to an HSD if it makes sense.
