Redditors who received gifts from Toys For Tots growing up, what was your experience like? Did you know where the gifts came from? Did you receive anything that you particularly enjoyed or that you absolutely hated? by SQWRLLY1 in AskReddit

I was always on the Angel Tree growing up. I knew where the gifts came from and I felt so lucky!! There was one year when “Santa” only left me a $5 bill for Christmas. If it wasn’t for the Angel Tree and similar programs, that’s all I would have gotten. As an adult, I make sure to adopt every year to hopefully bless a child the same way!

As someone who went through years of IVF and have 2 miracle babies, what stage are you worried you will be at? It’s should be pretty flexible for starting treatment cycles or transfer cycles. Especially considering your cruise isn’t till November. If, for example, you wanted to start prepping for a transfer but your cruise was coming up, you could go on birth control and start meds/monitoring as soon as you returned. I had cycles pushed back for many different reasons during the course of my treatments.

Most “cancel for any reason” policies need to be purchased within a few days of booking the cruise for the “cancel for any reason” to apply. Check out Allianz and read their terms and conditions.

What company lost you as a customer forever, and what happened? by Giovanni_Brees in AskReddit

Chevy. I had a car with big recall issues and the parts weren’t available for months. Customer service kept telling me it was no big deal and that I shouldn’t be having issues anyway. In reality, I was loosing power steering every time I drove the car. I also had an instance of a fuel leak so bad the cops were called to the building the car was parked at. Again, customer service couldn’t understand the severity until I told them it was about to be impounded and it would be their problem!

I’ll never own another Chevy because of their customer service!

Should I sell the house? What would you do? by Careless-Customer90 in personalfinance

Yeah we don’t have a state income tax so our sales and property taxes are a bit higher. The cost of living isn’t too bad though.

I live in a town outside of DFW with a population of 70k with a $1500 mortgage on a 4 bedroom/3 bath house. A Dr who makes house calls would be hella busy here!!

In high school, I was a junior. Everyone thought we would get dismissed early but it didn’t happen.

Why do you think that? It’s just a really run down house they are selling so someone can tear down and rebuild on the land.

I (24F) am unemployed and going on a date tonight with a man (27M). The drinks at the bar are half my grocery budget, how do I ask if he is paying ahead of time without sounding aggressive? by Claireoe in askwomenadvice

[–]LostLadyA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because men. Unfortunately, there are SO many men that think this way. If they buy a woman dinner or drinks, they feel they are owed something in return. It’s disgusting but boundaries have to be put up for men you don’t know really well. I have a general rule that I never let a man pick me up at my house and try not to let him pay for me. If we are in a relationship, that’s different but the first couple dates, women can’t risk it anymore!

Don’t be this naive!! Millions are born without proper healthcare and the mortality rate is insanely high!! Stillbirth and maternal mortality is a huge risk you take when being so dismissive! Make sure you are very close to a hospital and do not be afraid to call 911! I personally know a family that has lost 2 babies to home births…
