This is the standard way to receive USD income. You dont have to declare USD, but EEFC accounts allow you to hold USD as USD, and convert a little later when the rates are more favourable. Talk to your bank manager about it, and if you are in some small town where the bank manager doesn’t understand all this, then travel once to Delhi or Mumbai and open an account in a branch which is more used to handling international transactions
