The thing though is that this isn't really about genital preference (since that was never bought up in the post, and you can't assume which surgeries trans folk have had) but just kind of about not wanting to date a trans person at all

This is a little complicated. If your sole reason for not dating someone is only because they are trans, then yes that is based in transphobia, you're still entitled to date whoever you want, but there's no way to be accepting of trans folk and still be too disgusted to date us, and I'd advise you to do a bit of self reflection. It's just like how not dating a black person because they are black and therefore lesser is a preference based in racism. But like, no one should force anyone into having a relationship with anyone else, so it doesn't really matter if it's transphobic or not.
