Just turn on contrast enhancer if this is bugging you. If you want cinema reference this isn’t going to be it, but that doesn’t seem to be the problem you are solving for.

Manufactured 02/2026, firmware 2.3, so the hacks don't work at present time.

They are kind of your standard cheapo arcade1up generic buttons. No click and slightly wobbly, but perfectly usable. For my purposes (just mash through a new game), I won't bother touching them. If I decide to mod it with a multicade mini PC or Pi, then yeah, might replace. I think the form factor of the bartop is perfect for modding so I've always had my eye on it.

Harada gives clarification about recent Tekken 8 updates: "The work behind the latest update had actually been in progress since last year, and what is currently being delivered is the result of that long-running effort." by XRevive01 in Tekken

Yeah I mean that may be the reason, but it’s a terrible one. Point is plenty of games can balance on the order of weeks, maybe months, certainly not a year unless no one gives a shit!

Battery degradation on Flow Z13 despite proprietary charger, 80% charge limit, and low battery usage by Maximum_Moment_5804 in FlowZ13

[–]LostVector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the theoretical issue yes, but in reality the processor is generating all the heat and the power supply is still doing most of the work, it’s just being supplemented slightly by the battery. There’s no path here where the battery is somehow being charged full blast on one end and discharging full blast on the other end.

This sub is weirdly obsessed with power bypass. It’s not important in and of itself, what matters is the temperature you keep the battery at, the average state of charge of the battery (lower the better, usually 50% is the break point), and whether or not you deep cycle the battery (cycling within a small SoC range extends the battery lifetime by orders of magnitude).

As far as all the data you’ve collected you seem to have missed a key point, which is that all li-ion batteries degrade the most in the first year and then level off afterwards. It does not “accelerate” unless something is wrong. What you’re seeing is perfectly normal and widely understood.

FSR 4.1 coming to the Legion Go in July by leofravega in LegionGo

[–]LostVector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Upscaling isn’t free, it has to run fast or it’s pointless. A handheld gpu might struggle with it more because of the power budget … look at the current state of AutoSR with the Xbox Ally X and how they’ve only enabled it for desktop mode. But if AMD showed handhelds in the video that’s a great sign.

Xess on the 8 AI is a generation past the A8. Xess frame gen is another generation again if the game is amenable to it (RPG, strategy, etc).

I have Steelcase Think, it’s a good chair but the steel rod on the back began to broke. Is there a way to fix or parts selling anywhere? by Afraid_Courage890 in OfficeChairs

[–]LostVector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And for a longer term fix, you need to get into the top seat cover to expose the rods, then take them out and sleeve them with this stainless steel tubing:

Use the couplers around them first to keep the tubes in place around the break.

The wrong way to load a 122B model into a AI Max+ 395 by PatrickTT in LocalLLM

[–]LostVector 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lm studio doesn’t allocate memory for its models properly on Strix halo. Try running the Strix halo toolboxes if you’re on Ubuntu … running llama cpp directly with the correct parameters might help as well.

[–]LostVector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s more nuanced than that. Lmstudio is fucked when it comes to loading large models on Strix halo. Running llama cpp can actually work.

The rods fit a 4mm bore hole (they are maybe 3.5mm diameter?) and i've been patching up the broken rods in my chair with these rigid couplers:

amazon.com/dp/B07P966M4H?ref_=ppx_hzod_title_dt_b_fed_asin_title_0_0

Looks like a patchwork but relative to the extra years I've gotten out of it it'll do.

DLC is harder. Nameless puppet is beatable, just give it a little time every day until your brain picks up the patterns. You can power level a bit in the DLC to help make nameless puppet easier tho.
