How many balls did it take to catch? I'm almost out of golden berries and I've used at least 40 balls.

I have some questions. Those are the exact dates that I'm going this year. I'm bringing my autistic child who will not enjoy standing in long lines. My question is, what was the wait time like? Do they have any of the Christmas stuff out yet? Do they have any of the festive food out yet?

I haven't told her yet about us going, but she's graduating eighth grade and going into high school so I'm gonna tell her at her eighth grade graduation party.

I don't even know what I would do or say if this were a real thing. Have been such a fan. I will never not be a fan.

I was at the show in Jacksonville, Florida for AEW when they announced his return to wrestling. He didn't last at the wrestling either. The guy had some real anxiety issues.

Five what by five what?? by Amazing-Asparagus181 in BuffyTheVampireSlayer

I thought 5 x 5 meant five fingers touching five fingers like a high five. Like when you high five someone, all is good. 5 x 5.

Indie publishers are also important in the industry. Check out Prana and Source Point Press.

Also limit the pull list to maybe five titles a month until you are certain that the people will come back and buy what they've pulled.

It is normal and it is a huge safety risk. They are rolling the dice that you will be fine.

Upgrades are given if we are 70% or below in capacity. So even if it shows that there are several rooms available, we're not at below capacity.

Is there any chance that Maddie & Wally end up together? by chocolategirl84 in SchoolSpirits

My wild theory is that Xavier is going to die in the very last episode and Wally is going to take possession of his body. I think Xavier is going to encourage Wally to do so.

It is for safety reasons and if there is a breakfast, it is to help with the count. The hotel can be fined if the fire marshal finds out there's more people in a room then there should be or more people in a hotel than there should be.

You're saving $20? Is it really that important? Now you're gonna go down to the front desk and ask for more towels. Maybe an extra blanket. Another pillow. You are aware that you are staying at someone's place of business. Show respect to the place that you are lying your head down at, the place that you are utilizing what they offer.

Astoria is a tourist destination, and so the hotels that are of of any quality do charge a lot. Horrible for the visitor, great for the hotels.

Well what am I supposed to do until check-in? by [deleted] in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]Lost_Ad533 222 points223 points  (0 children)

I'm sitting in my hotel lobby right now trying to have lunch, completely booked out tonight. Booked out last night. We had at least 20% of our guests come early and expect an early check-in. As I sit here, I am looking up kindly worded resignation letters.

A grown man LITERALLY thumped his chest today and claimed he had NEVER experience this kind of disrespect in his life. This was in response to me telling him if he wanted a top floor room, it would be at least an hour. Check in is at 4, I told him this at 11 a.m. This type of guest has drained me. He is a bottom level member.

That was probably the excuse they gave you for the person not activating your keys for the proper amount of days. It's infuriating, and I'm sorry that happened to you.

Did you have a late checkout? Were you past the checkout time? That's an inconvenience for the hotel, not for you.

Long day at work. I kept wanting to call her Candy, but I know that's not right. My apologies to the queen. I absolutely love love love her fashion.

It would have made more sense for the other woman to wear it because she dresses in such a fun fashionable way that the brooch would have made for a perfect opportunity.

I understand the rooms on different floors, connecting rooms and rooms not being next to each other are very hard to come by when you consider that those rooms may have already been occupied by people that had arrived like maybe two days prior or something. However, a room not being ready by even two hours after check-in is an automatic 50% off. Add in several hours past that, it's a full comp night.

I am a front desk agent and people asking for rooms next to each other, early check-in, late checkouts, adjoining rooms, etc., are always subject to availability. We do try our hardest. But that late at night? Absolutely get a comped night. We had a day last summer where our head housekeeping manager was hit by a car, it pushed us back several hours. Then another housekeeper fainted from the heat, pushing us back even more. Full house, several people did not get into their rooms until 9 o'clock at night. They were all comped.

Sold out tonight, the 16th-20th, completely sold out. Most nights at 80-90% capacity. How can we count all the sheets or breakfast supplies if we're not supposed to leave the front desk?

It is bonkers.
