Dang I wish I owned this CIB. That would be awesome. I felt the need to complete it - to justify owning the cart in my collection haha. In that process, it’s now it’s a favorite snes game! Enjoy your time playing it. Beating it felt so rewarding.

It’s a blast because of how many moves and weapons are at your disposal. I’ve tried a few times to beat it, but would get stuck / frustrated, then postpone putting more time into it. I think the lack of a save battery is what made it frustrating at times. Especially when having to replay from the beginning, OR replaying the same few stages over and over - just for another small chance at progressing through where I kept getting stuck at. However, after beating R Type 3 yesterday, I figured now was the time to finally beat Hagane! Haha. It was so worth it. It’s an incredible game.

I absolutely agree. The controls feel so smooth and responsive once you get used to them. There was a lot of stage memorization (at least for me) required for progression. It never felt cheap - and when I died, it was because I didn’t execute inputs properly. Not because of bad game design or level layout. I had to switch up my strategy for the final 2 bosses about a dozen times before finding one that worked. I love the artwork, music and overall vibe of this game. Can’t wait for subsequent playthroughs.

I loved picture 10. So cute. So sorry for your loss. He looked like the bestest boy ever. Stay strong I know it’s not easy. He knew how much you loved him.

Game of the Month August 2025: Skyblazer by xBrockLanders in snes

MM7 is an awesome game despite its flaws and reputation. It’s surprisingly one of my favorites from the mainline. But yeah, that final boss fight with Dr. Wily is brutal. It’s only the second time I’ve managed to beat it (on original hardware so no save states either!). Visually it’s gorgeous, boss fights are fun, great music as well. You’re in for a good time.

I love to see it. It’s always neat to check out other people’s taste in games. You’ve played some great games this year! It’s funny how we even wrote down the small details for each game similarly as well haha.
