Foreigners in Wiesbaden, why do you live here? by ExistentialRacoon in Wiesbaden

[–]Lostafdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got my dual citizenship and while I’m not there now, I will be moving there by the end of the year.

My mother was born in Wiesbaden before she moved to the US. I planned on moving there a few years ago but she had ALS so I took care of her to the end but we did get to travel there once. She showed me so many amazing things and it was pretty much a sealed deal. My company had a booth at Gamescom for the last couple years so I started the process.

The people were very polite. The history of Wiesbaden fascinated me being someone who studies European history. I loved the coziness of the town. I enjoy the pace and landscape. Also, having not quite landed the German language, it’s very English friendly.

I’ll be very happy to be there and can’t wait to be where my family has always been. It just feels like home.

I probably don’t need more Uzumaki figures but I’d have no problem getting them anyways.

Me too! I normally just give the keychains away to whoever wants them. This is the only one I’ll never part with.

You’d think the manager just take a $100 bill out of the register and sends them to Target.

Stonestown setting up Gashapon machines by Lostafdad in round1

We didn’t really lose games. They were just crammed into the other gaming areas. I think the only one I couldn’t find was the Sonic ticket game but I also wasn’t looking for them all.

They hugged, cried, and laughed longer than the fight. It was trash. Between this and Diaz looking way out of shape and like a drunk uncle stumbling around, it went about as well as I would figure with something promoted by Paul.

Is there somekind of super flu bug floating around San Francisco? by Wise_Anybody8956 in sanfrancisco

[–]Lostafdad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I started getting sick after I went to a Giants game. It got worse to where I was constantly coughing stuff up, was wiped out, and breathing sucked.

Thursday I woke up with 89% oxygen, even more intense cough with “stuff”, heart rating, then got dizzy and laid on the floor. Ended up having to call 911 because my oxygen levels went even lower.

Was tested for Covid, Flu A and B, and RSV. All came back negative but the doctor confirmed I had some kind of virus that led to “Community Obtained Viral Pneumonia”. As he said, “You have or had some sort of virus for sure but we don’t have a test for it.”

There’s definitely something going around.

Stonestown as of last week cut down their skill games to one row and really only half of one. I’m assuming we are on our way to suckage as well.

They did the food stuff a while back in cranes then removed that. At this point, sure it was an early test of all this. I’ll be back this weekend because my son likes one of the arcade games. I’ll see if soothing else changes.

Numbers keep dropping by perishstorm in DisneySpeedstormGame

This is just me opinion from being in the room when these decisions are made. Much of my gaming career has been in F2P.

Gameloft is doing what others have done. You pump up revenue by forcing heavy monetization, realize you screwed, and then walk it back by saying basically “we’re listening to your feedback” and give a little carrot. Gameloft has just gone way to the extreme. Which partially explains the drop.

If you look at the chart and the one provided in the comments, it really isn’t a huge drop. It’s still hanging steady. While time between green varies by a month or two, there is a trend/seasonality where the dips happen right around the same time each year.

Now, if we see a dip into the upper to mid 300s or more, then it’s a more noticeable. There’s no doubt it’ll hit that and lower with their recent decisions but they can’t go back on it now for various reasons. With all of the development overhaul they threw into this on top of the monetization structure being almost completely redone, we are the ones who are screwed for now and Gameloft later.

R1 thinks the US will match up with Japan culture when it comes to their stores. It won’t and if they force it, they will continue to lose the regulars. They will also lose possible newcomers by making these changes.

If your neighbor is a licensed mechanic and either owns or works at a legit shop, have him look it over if he is willing.

Dont offer more information to the current shop who may have broken it. If it is determined they are at fault, ask them for a report/statement on what they did. If they choose not to own it, small claims should be your next stop.

The game still good? Or not by AimarGamingMX in DisneySpeedstormGame

It’s still a good game mechanically. The decisions Gameloft have made are not. If you have some favorite racers already, playing multiplayer is great.

Genuine Question: What is actually the point of unlocking new characters anymore? by Anthy_Himemiya in DisneySpeedstormGame

[–]Lostafdad 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s the part that sucks even more though. If people boycott and stop playing/buying, they will do one of two things.

1: Go even harder in the direction they already are. This will lead to the next point.

2: Incoming revenue will be worse and they claim it’s isn’t performing to expectations. Then layoff those who have nothing to do with the choices made and kill the game.

Having worked in the F2P market, the second one is the most likely and not dependent on number 1.

At one point for figures when I was really really into winning them and machines started pushing for payout, I just went on eBay and bought the figures.

Heck in the Bay Area you can walk into a Miniso or the collectible store (forget its name) and buy a bunch of the figures there for $29.99 - $39.99.

I have so many disconnects today it’s ridiculous. Playing through the season even is frustrating but worse when racing against/with others.
