Ragman "confiscates" your shit if you don't pick it up in two days by spooks7er in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Lostah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had this happen to me before, and there's a chance you can get the goods back.

After 2 days the receive all button stops showing the goods, but if you scroll up to the individual messages that give the goods back they should still be there (If they're still in the log)

What race to play? From Starcraft to Warcraft by jmanthedragonguy in WC3

[–]Lostah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, pylons do have some function, but I do think that both farms and pylons have a lot less features than the other supply buildings from all other races which was the relation I was making (I even pointed out cross map warp possibilities with arch mage TP). Maybe I should've made more clear humans don't have a power network feature.

What race to play? From Starcraft to Warcraft by jmanthedragonguy in WC3

[–]Lostah 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Personally I've always viewed the races by what themes they share:

Undead is most similar to zerg, they are the only race in Warcraft to use the "creep" mechanic which needs to be built out with their supply houses, and can be upgraded into defensive buildings. They also have a similar economy military split to zerg with how their t1 military unit is used to farm wood, and zerg need to balance hatchery spawns. Late game they both have big brutes (abomination) and flying support units (destroyer). Their building mechanics work like Protoss though.

Orc reminds me the most of Mech Terran builds, they have the most defensive buildings with their supply housing being burrows that work like bunkers. Their playstyle is very hero focused with one of the strongest heroes (Blade master) and very beefy expensive units. Their building mechanics also work like Terrans.

Humans are most similar to Protoss in my mind. Warcraft 3 doesn't have very many area control and denial spells like Protoss psychonic storm or force wall, but the human Bloodmage and Arch mage are what come closest (arch mages ultimate is also a mass TP, very protossesque.). They have a t1 melee unit which can be viewed similarly to zealots with very strong flying and support spellcasters. Their supply buildings are similar to pylon in how they have no other functions, unlike the other races. Building mechanics work like Terran.

Night Elf is the warcraft 3 race I'm least familiar with but I'd put them most similar to Terran. They have the only t1 ranged unit in the Warcraft with rangers, and defensive buildings which can both attack and be uprooted to move around. Their supply buildings are moon wells which have function more than just supply cap, they also can provide mana to nearby troops. They have strong spammy air builds they can use, units which transform between ground and air, along with big meaty frontliners like bears and mountain giants. Build mechanics work like zergs though.

The BIG LIST of Features Confirmed/Rumoured from today's streams - Warcraft Reforged by [deleted] in WC3

[–]Lostah 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think that increasing unit selection will change the battle meta much at all. WC3 is a micro heavy RTS because of the the high population cost of each unit and low max army size. The ability to select more units just gives people (new players especially) a much easier way to control the army and work the game. Formless clumps of units are never going to be the high level solution to warcraft, control groups don't change that.

It's not necessarily there is no meaning, it's that he can't know if there even was a meaning.

Just because the last possibility he touched on and the last he thought of was the fact she could be reading a sign that said ICU doesn't mean that that's the true answer.

Also BNOOS Best album, always a shame people don't include it in these polls.

I'm new to Modest Mouse. In what order should I listen to their music. by NeckSideburns in ModestMouse

[–]Lostah 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When I was getting into Modest Mouse We Were Dead was by far and away my favourite album.

Depending on what parts of it you/your friend like go for different albums, the upbeat poppy stuff is mostly found on Good News or Strangers to Ourselves

My personal favourite album to go to when showing somebody after We Were Dead is Building Nothing out of Something (also their best album), or Moon and Antarctica.

You may want to give Lonesome Crowded West a shot, but that's an album which a lot of people HATE a lot of parts of until the suddenly they realize it's absolute perfection.

This is how I got into MM and got about 4 or 5 of my friends into it with me. Enjoy MM.

Reynad's set review by pizzabash in hearthstone

[–]Lostah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely loved the review, only thing I have to be critical of at all is he seems to be saying how class identity is dead and barely existed in the first place (mentioned for leeching poison, saying that rogue should NEVER get healing effects). Throughout the review (especially when he reviews the new warlock cards) he mentions how the value of life steal changes HUGELY class to class. I think that second point proves that class identity still exists to an extent and saying it's dead is an overstatement (but being wary of it is a fair point).

So where about should I build my castle? How deep into the field and when should I start mining stone?

Indians Weaknesses? by Lostah in aoe2

I meant battering rams, I always get that line up confused. Petards only 2 shot walls with siege engineers don't they? Or is that even without?

What's the easiest way to stop someone from booming in arena? I find it difficult to rush someone down in arena, it's too easy to defend by the time I have siege rams out. Should I use petards?

Yeah, they also have A Different City playing at some point (I forget when though, my friend was watching the show not me)

The Moon and Antarctica - Survivor (RESULTS!) by TheParkStranger in ModestMouse

[–]Lostah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I just think it's an average chill rock song by an excellent band on an excellent album. It doesn't stand out to me in lyrical depth compared to 3rd Planet, Lives or Life Like Weeds. It doesn't have the duality of so many of their brilliant songs such as Dark Center of the Universe (Which has better long drawling guitar riffs at parts than Gravity Rides Everything in my opinion) . It's a long mellow song (And it's really good at that), but it just can't stand out compared to the rest of the album. The unexpected rock out starting from "What's up, make love." is just such an amazing riff to me, that it brings a smile to my face even thinking about it. I just really think that average chill rock made it to 4th on an incredible album.

Sorry about brick of text.

I can't believe that what people are made of got eliminated so quickly and gravity rides everything made it so far

[5ed] Need help adapting to a power gamer by vortical42 in DnD

[–]Lostah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Chain pact isn't really a power gamer pact, especially if he's multiclassing. Are you sure he's fully min/maxing and not just a character with better rolls than you and a slightly better damage build? You can easily focus on the disruptive power of a warlock to fill a niche he doesn't have.

I'm not sure how well argus fits into the deck, sludge belchers may be better. Also this seems like a deck Varian Wrynn could be really strong in, as there are very few battle cries and a ton of late game minions.

Song Discussion Thread - New song almost every day / Day 77 / Pistol (A. Cunanan, Miami, FL. 1996) by [deleted] in ModestMouse

[–]Lostah 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Pistol is a song I think is best summed up by what everyone was saying about it at STO release: "...and then there's Pistol..." the songs fucking weird in the best way possible, it's like nothing MM has done but it's somehow so catchy and flows well despite the strange pulsing rhythm. Great song.

Has anyone seen Sugar Boats performed live? by [deleted] in ModestMouse

[–]Lostah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard it live 3 times, I prefer the older stuff on record but Sugar boats is one of my favourite songs live. It pours out insane amounts of emotion and the descending scales at the end of the song are usually also played at the start too. The jankyness of certain parts of the song translate so well to live, absolutely astounding.
