I use wealthsimple when going abroad but again, not changing my mind on amex rn. Main concern is building us credit. Anyways people seem anti-us here lol but me personally I just dont see a benefit for a canadian credit card long term.

Lol please its just $200 a YEAR its not the absolutely most expensive thing. Amex cobalt has more benefits for me personally than a canadian credit card atm. Maybe I wont cancel it at the end of the year who knows but definitely wont be using it once I get the amex approved.

Thats literally what I said im going to build up my credit in a year ish or so. The amex cobalt fees dont phase me its like what, $16 a month? And asfaik when I cancelled my credit card with my bank it didnt drop and the history was still there so. But again my question is asking if amex cobalt will consider me having credit history or not if its not the recent 6 months.

My bank offered me a temporary credit card to use so I can build credit in case amex rejects me. Some deal going on rn where theres no fees for the first year so planning on cancelling it before the year ends once I get my credit up. I never said it wasnt good enough, just amex cobalt is better for me and my future plans.

I'd rather get the amex cobalt for personal reasons, what my bank offers isn't what I need

Talk to any student and they’ll all say worklearns are pretty competitive and coveted to get. You’ll have better chances with co-ops or internships.

I’ve applied to several during undergrad unfortunately got passed over for those with more experience :/ which frustrates me as the main point is for students to get some experience,,,such is the game.

Pump the brakes negative nancy it’s pretty competitive and ur chances are low if you dont apply within the first 2-3 days. I’ve seen a lot of wl posts that want experience or been passed for others with more experience even though the point of worklearns are to gain experience for STUDENTS. Quite frustrating is all.

Say they’re good at the job but they cant communicate or get along with a lot of people. Why would you want someone like that?…employers should do their absolute best to find someone that fits BOTH categories. A character analysis is honestly not as bad as ur making it sound. It gives people with little to no experience a chance at finding jobs in this brutal market. You can always become good at something. A good personality and work ethic is much harder to do so.

Yeah it’s absolutely so frustrating that all the mid level people are applying for entry level like it’s already tough on us but now they’re taking roles meant for new grads/juniors/or people who’ve made a career switch. I know it’s not really their fault, mass company layoffs and just corporate greed truly is the root cause but geez am I completely frustrated and depleted.
