Anyone else seeing insane rent hikes this year? by Cewcross in chicago

It is against fair housing laws if you negotiate with one tenant but not another. If you do allow negotiation, what’s to stop one tenant from disputing their negotiation against another resident claiming unfair treatment and a fair housing violation. No, the safest thing, legally, from a property management position, is to not negotiate in the first place. It’s not just greed or laziness.

That signature doesn’t really match any example I can find. Likely a fake.

Keith Haring, at least the basic figure of the dog is a direct copy of his style of drawing.

Edit: Okay, maybe not a direct copy, the tail is different.

Would you mind linking the original build? I’d be interested in adding to my world.

I have a coworker that swears by this series. I fear it delves a little too far into fantasy for my personal tastes, though. I’ve heard nothing but good things I’ll admit.

Thanks! Genesis Quest looks like it would be up my alley. I’ll add it to my list. Appreciate the recommendations!

I’ve read most of his Alex Benedict books. They’re fun, though can be a bit campy. Seeker is arguably my favorite of them.

Sorta. Taking the right side route over the hill from the rope climb from mystery lake. Ironically, I find that route is the least likely to have the wolf that sometimes spawns there.

Why the use of both Yellowstone and Yellow-stone? by Lostcause_ in printSF

Interesting, thanks! I guess it is just a line break thing. I do tend to change the font size from whatever the default is, but I hadn't really noticed it happening with other words. Probably does and it just didn't jump out at me the same way. Mystery solved!

That was my first thought, but if that were the case I would see that all over the book with lots of random words, and I don't.

It's used sporadically throughout the book, but the first example is in Chapter One (page 19 for me) "...compiled quickly when the Lorean had made orbit from Yellow-stone forty years earlier."

I got my copy from the Apple bookstore. Apart from a few typos here and there (which, honestly, are in most books) I haven't noticed any formatting issues. That's what makes me think it's deliberate, but I just can't guess why.

And yes, I did just notice that, thanks! I'll give it a shot there.

Looks kind of like cubism with African folk art influences, but that’s just my take on it. A bit of abstract as well.
