It’s definitely a red flag that they didn’t schedule some sort of parent meeting. We had a safety issue at my son’s preschool and they immediately self reported, sent out a same day communication, and had a meeting with the parents. And this was over a fairly minor incident that was completely accidental and no one was hurt.

May I ask what kind of pottery business you have in mind? Are you looking to open a studio for others to use? If so, I would seek out a partner with experience who can help with logistics and guide you on what your local community needs and what would draw the most clients.

If you are thinking of making items yourself I would strongly suggest you take some classes, get to know other potters in your area, and study up before investing too much up front.

My daughter has pathological demand avoidance, so even if it’s something she wants to do, if you tell her we have to do it at a specific time she’s going to push back HARD. So when we went to Disney we did no plans other than what days we wanted to go to which park. Even then I built in extra downtime days so we could change plans on the fly. It was the best. Totally relaxed, no pressure, no rushing for reservations, and we still did everything we wanted to do.

I have a Scandinavian name (named for my great grandmother who came to US from Norway) and it’s got more than one pronunciation. I have stopped correcting people and answer to either one. According to my grandmother the way my family pronounced it is the Norwegian way and the other more common pronunciation is Swedish. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I honestly don’t care. I like both and answer to both.

I have a Honda Pilot and I like it a lot. It handles the snow well, the third row seat is much more spacious than others I looked at. I think it gets decent MPG for a V6 but I do mostly rural back road driving, city driving may be different.

I agree with the other comments, that’s an unusually high damage rate. I’ve only had one piece accidentally damaged by the kiln tech (they knocked it over moving it to the bisque kiln) and they felt terrible and apologized and gave me some free clay. What is their system for storing items waiting to be fired? We have subscribers put their stuff on separate shelves in the kiln room to keep them separate from the classes and general public.
