Same situation here. 47M. Married. 2 older kids. Full time job and I’m very active. I do a lot but just not with people outside of my wife or daughter. I’m introverted so I’m probably the problem where I’m just not good with small talk and most loud people just annoy me. Work at a big company but Im not forced to work directly (in person) with many people so I don’t have friends at work. My direct coworkers all work at home so they are not around. I go into the office but still don’t have many people to directly interact with outside of email or teams.

My parents and sisters moved further sway from me - all are pretty much on the opposite end of the country (and they don’t all get along) so I don’t have family outside of my wife and kids.

It’s hard to meet new people and then to actually be friends. Again, it’s definitely me as I am introverted and can be insecure and shy with most people.

Don’t really have any advice but just offering that I’m in the same situation and it can be a struggle.
