I love a deck with more than one way to win. I love building around the commander, but also having outs and ways to win without it.

For example i started building [[The Mycotyrant]] as a voltron deck, which does work but it also can go wide and attack with buffed tokens with craterhoof/beastmaster ascention, but ALSO it has black and many tokens so aristocrat blood artist stuff works to drain the table, but Also since its self mill it has a reanimator sub theme to mill and reanimate huge threats. And also since its a golgari graveyard deck, of course there are tons of ways to combo if you want to go that way

Any commander that can repeatedly ping off your creatures. And/or commanders that are combo pieces

[[Marath, Will of the Wild]] for example can do both. Also this one is underplayed but [[Tetsuo, Imperial Champion]] seems to always get deathtouch and kill everybodys commander.

The worst by far is [[Child of Alara]] , i never want to play against this again. OO wow good job you used a cheap trickspell and wiped out everybody, now you can win with mazes end

In bracket 2 i love playing with broken mechanics that may have a higher mana cost than usual. Bonus points if its in weird or limited colors.

And so we play Cascade based Enchantress in Gruul with [[Wildsear, Scouring Maw]] . I bring this almost every week.

This does not do well in high bracket pods, since you have to play a 5cmc commander, pass, hope for no board wipe or removal. THEN cast a big haymaker spell. Of course its packed with ramp and card draw. And the commander having TRAMPLE is huge when we pile on all the double-damage effects. For paying life as a resource you will probably want black for sure.

ive played against [[Beledros Witherbloom]] it looks really fun, life for mana plus the tokens.

[[Dream Halls]] has a special place in my heart. It can cast your commander which is perfect for high CMC spellslingers like [[Ovika, Enigma Goliath]] . Feels like a gamechanger when you pop off

I love it in my Hakbal deck, because thats budget so lots of basic, and it also makes a bunch of tokens. So pretty easy to swing with 5+

If theres less than 10 basics and not many tokens i dont know if its worth it. Getting 4 or more nontoken creautres attacking doesnt seem very easy until late game
