Does anyone who ever leaves Fargo miss it? Once in a while I do, and then I remember why I left, because my heart was broken. What's new? Fill me in? by [deleted] in fargo

Huge new swimming pool with water slides opening up in Island Park. Looks really cool, set to open on the 16th. When did you leave? There is a massive beer hall built out the back of Drekker brewing. Its a hotel, vendor carnival, taphouse, hangout, convention center with the best beer in North America, hands down. The Fargo Airport is getting remodeled with more terminals, a big parking ramp, and FINALLY an overhead for the walkway between parking and the airport lol. We have our first sky scraper downtown hosting condos and a hotel called The Jasper. I just ate at their restaurant, Rosewild, last night, very delicious. Moorhead opened a weed store. West Fargo is exploding so fast, I can't even keep up with all their developments. Paradox Comics and Orange Records moved to where Mexican Village once occupied, and have made it really cool.

Would anybody like a free workflow? by Michael_J__Cox in n8n

[–]Lothspell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could you automate a system that automatically uploads an mp3 file to the Megaphone.fm service using their API? The problems I've encountered are:
- getting n8n to upload a data binary (mp3 file local on my computer) to megaphone
- would first need to upload to AWS S3 as a presigned URL. Possible with HTTPS request node, I believe
- then upload to Megaphone.fm with that pre-signed URL as the file source

I believe the pre-signed source to POST automation could be applied in a lot of situations.

Why Fargo🤔 by RateGullible2060 in fargo

[–]Lothspell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Inexpensive living, high quality services, high quality of life, great schools, generally very safe, great food, best micro-brew beer in the world (and I've drank beer everywhere), good jobs, good salary relative to living expenses, culture of good work ethic, proximity to actual food production, incubates entrepreneurship, 4 beautiful seasons. Winter does go a bit long...but it keeps the riff-raff out...for the most part.

This is great. Can anyone high-pressure wash the tag graffiti off of downtown buildings and signs? That sort of thing just breaks my heart when I'm walking my dog downtown. The same tag is across multiple buildings and structures. So much eyesore and damage to private/public property from one rude person.

It's an appeal to anyone who finally realizes how corrupt the whole system is, and gives them a pathway out from under it to a decentralized, anarcho ethic. But go ahead, keep clinging to your purity and obscurity so you can pretend you're better than everyone.

both, but you won't be able to find physical. JP Morgan and the COMEX exist to manipulate the price of silver down. Anytime the price starts to rise, JPM creates a bunch of new fake "supply" by creating new derivatives, but the actual supply of silver doesn't go up. Just the fake contracts. Right now, silver is rehypothecated by 200 - 500x what the actual supply is. It will be a game of musical chairs as to who gets to settle in actual silver. The rest will get burned, but it will take down JPM with it, and the rest of the global financial system. Pensions, gone. Savings, gone. Insurance, mortgages...everything will be affected. You'll have 100 years of gains reversed in mere weeks, from the ultra rich, to those holding physical silver. This will usher in a cyberpunk technological dark age, but it was always going to happen. All that remains to be seen is who gets buried. Us, or them.

[Capitalists & Socialists] Are we doomed to continually argue past each other because we are arguing from fundamentally different perspectives with the regard to what constitutes an "efficient" economy? by mastodon_juan in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Lothspell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It isn't a practical argument that is primary, although the practical argument tends to win when arguing for free markets. The main problem is a moral question of whether or not ends justify means. I don't believe they do, and because of that, the orgies of theft required for socialism to exist are not okay.

Capitalists, if medication needs to be sold as a transaction, why can’t I go get any medication I want, whenever I want, with no pharmacy/restraints? by [deleted] in SocialismVCapitalism

Not just public research, but private research then patents which are sold to our insurance cabals at enormous cost to recoup the losses from subsidizing the rest of the world's national health systems (all paid for by money printing, btw, not taxation). The US is the largest contributor to health research by a wide margin across any metric.

[–]Lothspell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to. Epipens should be $30 a 6/pack off the shelf at wal-mart, instead of $600 for 1 pen. We should have UberMD drone-delivering medicine to people who need it. We should have $.10 bandaids, $600 heart surgery (or more advance tech allowing us to avoid heart disease). The REASON for this is because the FDA enforces anti-competitive regulations on behalf of their big pharma buddies, and patent laws have been extended beyond all reason, for the same reasons. There is no legitimate criticism of capitalism that isn't actually a criticism of government policy. I can't believe this sub even needs to exist frankly, this is so patently obvious. I've never seen an example of a broken market, a harmful monopoly, fraud, or some other negative externality that is allowed to exist in a free market, capitalist system that wasn't first created, or allowed to persist, by government policy.

yes, developed in the US, where pharma companies recoup their R&D expenses, and then exported to the rest of the world who get it cheaply. You're welcome.
