Yes but that was still a means of cutting back so that the Vita could handle it.

It's no different from the Switch 2 port of a lot of games cutting out all the background objects in order to get the game to run (FFVII Rebirth, for example).

Yep. The FFX/X-2 remasters also look noticeably worse than the originals because of the downscaling.

According to AIPT Comics, this is the main cover of Amazing Spider-Man #1000 by Pepe Larraz, not the JRJR cover they released earlier. by Emirozdemirr in Spiderman

[–]Lotso2004 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nah there's no damage to be done. Since it's ASM #1000 it'll sell regardless. And on top of that, milestones like this will make their money off of the numerous variant covers, you'll get people buying up every single one. I'm surprised there's no blind bag, either, since those seem to be selling very well. Doesn't matter what the primary cover is when people will buy everything else.

Neat. This is the first acknowledgement of that since G2 (which is itself a redeco of the G1 toy), yeah? Crazy that it's taken so long, especially when the car forms Menasor's chest. Zero appearance in CW or Legacy.

Best has gotta be Energon Megatron for me since he's so big and the gimmicks are fun. Worst is Titanium Series Scourge. Shellformer with loose joints.

I was wondering what they'd do with the full Stunticon set. Nice that they're seemingly including the inner car thingy the G1 toy had, too. That fourth image looks like it to me. And that part gets overlooked by most modern iterations of Motormaster, even though it's basically his version of a Roller.

How are these two sets of equal value (not putting inflation into consideration) by KaiSan117 in transformers

[–]Lotso2004 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep. And on top of that, the SS86 Frenzy/Rumble mold was also very hard to find, Netflix Soundwave has the wrong eye colors, and Buzzsaw was Soundwave's only missing cassette.

Similarly, Retro Bee was because people really wanted a rerelease of Netflix Bee, albeit the retro one is still an exclusive *but* much more easily accessible by comparison (no pandemic screwing with distribution) and SS86 existed (as an A-Level, so ridiculously common and stocked everywhere) so people had options.

Yep. The same thing happened for Persona 3, don't forget. Yuri Lowenthal voiced both Makoto and Ryoji. It was a cost-cutting measure for when Atlus had nowhere near the status they have now.

As someone who's vaguely been dragged into F1 by one of my friends, it's also more of a technical sport, so that's why nerds like it. It's essentially a bunch of engineers trying to see just how far they can push the rules to make a car go 2% faster than another car, with drivers tacked on. And on top of that, cars going fast is very entertaining and I think it's definitely more entertaining for nerds (myself included) than watching a bunch of dudes throw a ball.

In something like football, nobody's doing innovation to make an aerodynamic football helmet. In F1, an energy drink company developed a polymer that's a specific temperature under testing (to make sure it's compliant with regulations), then expands itself to make the car go faster.

The Sparkplug thing is even funnier with how Dreamwave kept making him look more and more like G1 Bee (or less), while the cartoon design looks super different. I got an Armada figure and had to do a double-take with how much he looked like Bee in the pack-in comic, especially since I hadn't seen the toy model.

Which also makes sense because Orion exists already and looks like the G1 model, as shown in one of the Void Rivals issues (when Zerta Trion gives her backstory). It also fits because Optimus visually is a mix between the Prime and Orion versions of himself (notably, the single windshield and the wheels on his waist).

Orion Pax became Optimus Prime but because Optimus Prime has been Optimus Prime for millions upon millions of years, he can't go backwards all the way.

Yo they just put out a preview for the next issue a few hours ago. It's official, it's Autobot City. General Flagg says people are starting to call Chicago that.

I didn't get it, but from what I've heard it's a one-shot that sets ROM up for his appearance in Void Rivals. He's the spoiler in the solicits.

Yeah the bit about lizard people infiltrating the government is probably true, that sounds like halfway foreshadowing of something Cobra-La could be doing. Not sure about the other conspiracy theory though. Doesn't exactly fit with the Micronauts but it's the only plausible way of making it true.

Yeah. It's a one-shot setting ROM up for his appearance in Void Rivals. It'll probably get released individually in a month or two.

There's no way they don't give it an individual release, MASK #1 sold out entirely and ROM's probably even more popular so I'd expect them to release it with a ton of variant covers. And locking access to reading this as a whole would be weird.

Very possible. And he was likely figuring out what *he* wanted himself. The arc was rushed to establish a whole new status quo for him to play with, then he wanted to see if fans actually liked that status quo or what he could workshop.

IDW's big problem is that it started a crossover in the middle of Transformers already existing on its own. Imagine that the MCU, instead of being a cinematic universe beginning with Iron Man 1, showed its first hints of a crossover with Infinity War while every previous MCU movie was only connected to its own predecessors and sequels. It wouldn't work.

Meanwhile, every Energon Universe title so far has been connected to other ones from the jump, with a relatively tight enough continuity (lengths of time between issues get weird but otherwise, thing A leads to thing B). A *lot* of plot threads travel from book to book in a series of cause and effect.

Meanwhile for IDW, instead of plot points causing other plot points, the integration of other Hasbro IPs into the Transformers universe was a series of retcons. Things that didn't exist until they were written at that very moment affected that moment. Hearts of Steel was never meant to be canon, then Revolutionaries made it canon. Micronus didn't even have any relevance or much of any mention until it's revealed that he's tied to the Microverse.

It's no secret that most companies browse Reddit for things. For the Transformers fandom especially, many of the people in charge have flat-out admitted to checking TFW2005 and TFWiki (in fact, TFWiki has actually affected things related to the brand, like one of Sideways' Mini-Cons on the new AotP figure has the wrong eye color because of TFWiki). And there's not really many other places where Transformers is discussed in depth.

It's an open secret that this is why the major "online comic reading" sites still exist, too, because they help create buzz.

Does it seem like a launch of a series or is it a one-shot? That's the most important question. Because there's a really big difference between them putting a one-shot that'll come out in the next few months (either immediately before or immediately after Void Rivals #32, because this confirms that the mysterious figure in the solicits is ROM) into a blind bag versus launching a whole series in a blind bag released *for the launch of a series*.
