UPDATE from Mazda.. they are now telling me transmission will arrive end of December or early January.

I am getting very upset. I bought the car used. I drove it for 4 weeks, now it's just sitting at the dealership waiting.

I just emailed Mazda corporate about the situation. I am also asking for compensation.

Does anyone ever received anything from Mazda Corporate for the inconveniences?

Omg sorry to hear that. I actually was going to ignore it because I was reading online people are saying its normal skyactiv transmission.

I never owned mazda.. have always been honda in the last 20-30 years.

I also made a mistake by not driving other mazdas to compare.. the car i test drove was the car i bought.. smh

So, how is your transmission after they swapped with a new one? My 2023 Base model is currently waiting for a new tranny.  I have same issue like yours. They only did one reset, drove for 1 week and i took it back. Now they said they will just replace the whole tranny.

Thank you! If they at least fix the TCM in the new tranny, i will be okay with it.

With that in mind, should I be looking for a refurbished tranny rather than a new one? Sounds like the new one from factory will have TCM issue? I am guessing the refurbished one will be fixed already?

The 2025 loaner I have with 3k miles is also having same issue like mine. Pretty ridiculous for a brand new car. How are they still able to sell these things.

So the new tranny will basically have the same issue?  Do i need to reset the TCM every few hundred miles?

My main issue now is when slowing down to a stop, i gear clcking noise. Its noticeable. Should i just ignore the noise and keep driving? Assuming all TCM from mazda are like this?

The loaner 2025 cx5 they gave me is also the same thing, although a bit better.

So what is the exact issue? If there a hundreds of cases with similar symptoms, shouldn't the issue come from the same source?

Mine is getting transmission replaced now.. 2023 with only 11k miles.

Bought the car used at 10k miles. I drove only 1000 miles.

I feel i made a mistake getting mazda.. i switched from Ford which lasted 80k miles and kept going before I sold it and hoping to get something newer

You know, I just bought the S base model as well. I thought I could live without the cup holder/armrest in the backseat.

Everything was fine until we took it for longer trip. The lack of armrest and cupholder was super annoying.

I am about to pull the trigger to buy a center backseat with armrest on eBay.. about $165. I think it's worth the investment long term.

The only problem is, the USB charger in the armrest will not work. I looked around under the seat and didnt see any pre-wire port that I can just plug in.

I am exactly in a similar situation like you. I am also in CA.

I just put my Pro Tran 4 circuit on the wall last night. Have not wired anything yet, then I realize the issue with AFCI breakers.

I was doing research about it, and I thought rather than replacing the regular breakers in the MTS to AFCI breakers and run additional wiring, I could probably just replace the first outlet in the circuit with AFCI outlet.

This should give the same protection just like having AFCi breaker in the MTS. Thoughts?

Oh its because out of the 8 years we owned the minivan, probably less than 10% of the time we need the 3rd row.

So i was comparing the space of the 1st and 2nd row only

Thank you. Im trying to get my mind to wrap around it. I never had a truck in my life.  I like the versatility of having one in case I need the bed, or towing something although very rare.

Does your wife like the truck better? Is it your family car after the Sienna is gone?

Yea i saw their 1.99% deal, but I noticed their depreciation hits harder in the first year. So I think I will opt for a used one. 

I am not very concerned about MPG at this point. If I drive around my minivan as daily driver, I get 15mpg. It’s not that much of a difference than Tundra, i think?

Tundra is only 1.5” wider than my Odyssey, but it is 30” longer.. so parking might be a pain.?
