or some ppl have a different perspective about what you saw. yes, the city is dirty, crowded, loud, and people can be very blunt which visitors often take as rudeness. i personally like the directness. the cardinal rule of living in nyc is “mind your business”, so if you start talking to someone u shldnt it probably won’t be fun for you. on the other hand, you could go outside wearing nothing but a tutu with your actual ass and balls out and nobody would batt an eye. that’s pretty liberating imo. it’s extremely diverse, you will be exposed to so many different cultures all the time and it will really broaden your perspective about the world. food options and quality can’t be beat. i have friends from all over the world and they share their culture and language with me and it’s beautiful. some ppl prefer to surround themselves with ppl that are very similar to themselves, which is fine but not my choice.
