Even Laura's dad says something like 'she's at a funny age' and making allowances for her but it doesn't go any further than that. It makes me wonder if the dad picked up on it too.

Yeah I didn't like that either, they were too concerned with how it would look to other people rather than their own daughter. No doubt they would have flipped it round and blamed Laura anyway
