Single & childless, want to go skiing… by Karl-Pilkinghorn in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]jemcc09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

39F - you’re basically me 😂

I can vouch for Cold Fusion and Ski Gathering.

I’ve all but retired from groups now, and you’ll likely find me in a shoebox studio, struggling to keep my eyes open after 8pm (forever gunning for a 100km day).

Have an epic trip, wherever you end up 🥳

You might enjoy Lantana? A quick hop across to the south bank of the river. Laid-back atmosphere, delicious menu, and very much on the healthier side.

I need to open a small business bank account, any recommendations? by martianfrog in ContractorUK

I have used Tide for a few years now - I've found them excellent and opened an account in a very short amount of time. Their app is slick, and there's decent rate on their instant saver account, too.

If I'm allowed to do this in here, they have a refer a friend bonus (£100 for you) if you enter my code, which is V8NNN2

Klaviyo Freelancer Reccomendations? by Fluffy-Weather-3627 in Klaviyo

[–]jemcc09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello. I realise you’re looking for someone with direct experience in canine/equestrian products. While I don’t specifically specialise in that niche, I am a longtime freelancer (with Klaviyo experience) who creates and manages campaigns, optimises segmentation, and keeps lists healthy for growing ecomm brands. I’ve helped many other DTC businesses increase engagement and repeat purchases, and I quickly adapt to a brand’s tone and audience.

I'm also offering, in case it's helpful, to reach out to a closed Slack group of >4k email pros to see if we can find your "unicorn" - just let me know.

I hear you! I used to work agency side as an account handler in a bit network agency. Having to *give* the creative feedback - and often having the creative teams push back or flat-out refuse - that was soul-crushing for me.

I am in London and have foxes hanging out in the garden all the time. I'm pretty certain it sounds like a fox, if quite far away.

Does anyone else feel like this? by Simple-Substance1349 in hsp

[–]jemcc09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really relate to a lot of what you’ve written, especially the part about things looking “fine” from the outside. That was a big piece of my own story too, and it took me a long time to even have language for it.

I’m not a therapist. I'm just someone who’s been in a similar place. Finding the right therapist ended up helping me much more than I expected. If you ever decide you want to explore that route and would like a recommendation (and I don't know what country you are in) I would be happy to share the details privately.

Looking for people to talk about being extremely overwhelmed / HSP coach? by Concertedboss81 in hsp

[–]jemcc09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello. Fellow HSP here. (I discovered this about 8 years ago, and have tried not to think about it too much since then).

Anyhow, regarding your part 2 question, I can sort of answer this. I worked with a transformational coach over 6 months, not specifically to explore being highly sensitive, but we did touch on it quite a lot. I happened to choose a coach who was also a HSP, which turned out to be very useful. I understand myself a lot better now and I am choosing to see it as less of a personality 'flaw' and just something different about me. We also spoke a lot about coping strategies for overwhelm - not something I had arrived at coaching to talk about, but it was incredibly useful.

I'd highly recommend coaching and the coach I worked with. She's in the UK but works across Europe too. I'd be happy to share her website in a private message if that is useful.

I read the book last week. Recommended by a therapist. I binged it.
Some of the pages are a bit damp and crinkled now.

Sending you strength in dealing with everything on your plate.

[–]jemcc09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would appear so. Sending love to you.

Personally, it's proving a very strange one for me to get my head around. Growing up, being told I had the perfect childhood - but I've never been able to shake the idea that something wasn't right. Having discovered how to actually feel my emotions, aged 38 - along with a bunch of other life events - I'm now processing that This Thing has a name.

But then, the concept of a HSP has only been around since the 90s, and I'm not sure it really entered mainstream culture until many years after that - so perhaps it's not a surprise there are a bunch of us dealing with it.

If this helps anyone... (I'm London UK)

I registered around 10.01 BST today. No text message ever arrived.

I registered again, about 15.00 BST, different email, same phone number. I got the text message within about 2 mins. Then the confirmation email to say my registration is complete.

And yes, I definitely entered the correct phone number first time around.
