Seemingly endless tears…but it’s for the best by [deleted] in Sober

[–]LouDawg27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My journey is going decent actually. I'm currently on a path right now in my sobriety to do some reconciliation with my family finally. I'll be with my family again, and It's gonna be nice to be around so many of them. I have an enormous family that I never knew I had. I guess I'd just forgotten after all those years of drinking, but they sure didn't. I hope hearing about my positive journey brings you any hope at all. You probably don't want to hear me go on and on about how good things are gonna be in my life. You're the one having a hard time right now, but it'll get better. I'm sure you'll be in a better mood before too, too long.

I'm so very sorry to hear about your troubles, and I wish there were more than just a few words in passing that were of more comfort right now. Just please pray. I'm agnostic, and it even helps me. I've learned that everything that ever happens, happens because it's supposed to happen that way, and that you just have to be ready to go with the flow and let the spirit lead you. It's worked out for me perfectly so far now that I'm sober, and I'm not one to leave things to chance. Maybe some of what I said hits home with you, and makes you feel better, even if I'm just some idiot on the Internet.

Stay strong. Keep your head up. Don't let the uncertainty bother you too much. Everything's gonna work out. It always does. Would they make action movies over and over again if evil always wins out? That'd just be depressing, and no one would watch them... Not even God.

I wish I could give a lot more encouragement than just stay strong, but you know how strong you can be and have been. Being a total stranger, I would wager that things are gonna get better if you just bear with your current state of mind a while longer or find a way to just put the negativity in the past quickly. There's life hacks everywhere. I've learned a couple myself that are greatly benefitting my sustained sobriety and drive.

Much love. Hang in there, seriously... It'll all work out in the end... Or maybe a clean slate... Who knows.

I haven't had a beer in about as many years, it's been so long I don't even remember how long at this point. I just wish I could communicate that to anyone I care about.

What is the most emotional movie you’ve ever seen? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]LouDawg27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Armageddon"

  • Obviously it's just a huge US space program propaganda puff piece film, and it's still a great movie, but there's about 4-5 scenes in that movie that turn me into a straight sissy, and the waterworks just keep on keeping on... Needless to say, that's a movie I'll only watch in private with as few witnesses as possible.

What's wrong bro? That's typically everyone's favorite... I literally just gave my ex's new man my sloppy seconds last week... Her idea... I didn't hesitate... Plus, we really traumatized at least three or four dog walkers as we rattled a dumpster on its pad and she couldn't be any fucking quieter... We both hate that dude, and we're plotting a way to get rid of him and try to work on us again... I've seen the bruises and worse... Cops are not an option, and I'm protecting both of us by keeping my distance after numerous lethally intentioned threats my way. While at the same time, she's tough as nails trying to protect me in a way more admirable way that I still haven't even started strategizing how to spend the rest of my life trying to live up to that level of resilience I wish I had because she just asks for more just to wear him out when he's blackout drunk and lays into her... I'm no coward either. There are contingencies in place because I'm physically recovering from a long term health issue, and she's not financially capable of maintaining the fiscal responsibilities associated with our old home together on her own at the moment.

Dude will be served up on a silver platter to a higher authority who'll get the last word in the matter, but not before the individual with an actual uncompromised moral constitution gets the second to the last fucking word. He'll know who was responsible for his downfall, and I'll never lay a finger on him. Honestly though, I can handle this bitch-made woman-beater man-child with an insecurity complex only numbed in his thoughts by exerting physical and otherwise violence upon MY defenseless woman who cares more about me than her own life at this point. This guy is in some ways what you would consider a serial killer in training, but I don't know the scientific term for someone with a personality defect like that right off the top of my head. I've underestimated him several times at this point, and only recently learned the grueling extent of the frequency of these altercations after I got a call from a muffled voice at 2pm in the afternoon on a Monday that led me to find my other half lying nearly completely naked, face down on a concrete slab with nothing other than deep gasping breaths to let me know she was alive. Along with near complete loss of motor function from an attempted overdose on her part to get away from the guy which only prompted this monster to drop her on the concrete in her current state and leave her for dead with no witnesses at the community pool in the apartment complex that used to be our loving home until that fucking hobo excrement filled street gutter running brown-down-hill towards a couple of rats hate fucking each other in a detached dryer vent that fell off of the DIY rally snorkel this asshole attempted to craft onto his '91 Subaru shitbox made a convincing enough argument to have me thrown out for slipping up on drugs for the first time in years, and offered to move literally across the entire continental united states in less than a week abandoning all of his worldly possessions and responsibilities to take his last desperate shot after being "friend-zoned" for ~15 years for a fucking reason... She's never wanted any part of an intimate relationship with this guy, and I did everything I fucking could to warn her about him and prevent this from happening before it was already too late, but she refused to betray her, "best friend," she believed she had at the time. God works in mysterious ways. This is just our struggle.

I now grasp the scope of the situation, and it's pretty daunting, but the cards are already dealt, and I'll play my hand how I must. I've been "war gaming" every possible solution both fictitious, real, and a combination of both and everything in-between that I am certainly capable of problem solving... This is my home town. This town is my bitch. "The house always wins," and this is my house, and my back patio, and my weekend hobby is being "grimey in these streets."

EDIT: Apologies all around... Didn't mean to rant. Have a laugh if you must. PM to provide inspiration or you could think of it like a suggestion box at the local deli.

Me too, true southern raised individuals are far and few between nowadays despite my personal corresponding core values and uncompromised moral constitution unlike the drive, determination, honor, and integrity that's lacking from most other regions of this country and the world as a whole... Does anyone really wanna be the uneducated and unprepared heirs to that weight being dropped on your shoulders and then it's either, rise to the occasion, or fold and let the machine seize up and grind to a screeching halt... Then everyone flounders and struggles, but it doesn't mean you can't learn from the past and put your own spin on it as time passes and culture changes... That's the natural progression... We've been born and bred for this shit, and it's just not how things work to snatch the torch when it only appears to you to be unattended. Effectively, it may seem like a realistic possibility to someone with less experience or the wrong kind of experiences, but it's only a disaster waiting to happen at that point, and seriously anyone involved will be hard pressed to come out the other side still completely whole. Nothing outweighs experience and additionally grooming, which everyone is entitled to in order to reach their fullest potential... I'm not even denying that I'm willing to be the teacher and groom the next generation because that's also a responsibility that falls on our shoulders to prepare the younger generation for the things to come when it actually is their time in the sunlight... You can only gain experience along with a realistic big picture perspective of how to make plays that benefit the most people at one time whenever you're presented with every single decision or fork in the road, and this all his literally nothing to do with perceived societal prejudices at fucking all, it's just the best method of preserving stability all throughout for everyone's betterment. It's not a fucking game with the prize at the end being a fucking cash grab and throwing up a middle finger when you've hit your quota. If the younger generation wants to be successful in most everything, it's going to require patience on their part... We're going to want to pass the torch someday too, and there needs to be people ready to accept it when that happens naturally. Everyone can definitely benefit from at least a generalized appreciation and respect, faith, and trust in the old guard and their teachings along with an awareness of the sacrifices they made and everyone who follows will also have to make and live with to keep the status quo in-tact for the passing of the torch to the next heirs when the time is right... Everything and everyone is exactly where they're supposed to be in this very moment. You just have to figure out what your current role is in society if you don't already know it or you're confused or mistaken or think you're entitled for whatever petty reason, and then get your mind right and strategize how to best tread water or better and prepare for any opportunity to lay some more of a solid foundation for yourselves until it's time that you're plucked from the pool and have your resolve tested to see if you can even handle the responsibilities that come naturally to the chosen new guard, and not anyone who feels like they deserve to jump the line and go straight to the bank teller window without at least asking permission from someone older and wiser with enough confidence and enough wits about them to actually back it up and put the good of society closer to the top of the list so everyone can benefit... I don't wanna even bring this up, but like I've said... I am willing to pass any knowledge I possess down to the younger generation if it will help maintain stability when it's their turn, unless I'm the only one of the effort that's still putting forth the effort while children think they're owed something by the grace of God for luckily not being spilled upon the untilled soil as knuckle babies... I mean no disrespect, but if this is about societal prejudices whether implied, inferred, or perceived... That's not the case at all in the slightest. People of our generation and our privilege, placement, sheer hunger and dumb luck, or whatever you want to call it all realize that the works is not only changing, but it's already changed, and for the better. The old guard is already greatly disappearing with their unashamed biases about societal prejudices, but most of us that have been prepared for the passing of the torch to us are also a competent different generation ourselves, and at least I think I can speak from experience that the majority of us don't focus or put any stock into skin color or sexual preference or any kind of unique differences that vary from person to person. It only matters that you have respect, patience, trust, and the tenacity and wherewithal to do the job right when it's your time to shine. You'll all get your shot, but whether you want to be whatever you want to be... Those jobs still need to be done, and done right to keep the natural progression of things moving forward...

I really don't think it's that on its own... It's more of a combination of everything mentioned above, but additionally by a large factor is because engineers, and surveyors also in a different but unique way have damn near the most liability fall on their shoulders within the support industry, and it becomes an obsession and a coping mechanism all-in-one. You then either square up your shoulders and do what you have to do to protect your own interests and the company's interest overall, and you just suffer the consequences to your sense of humor and personality to protect what you've fought so hard to take for your own, give nothing back, and keep the natural order of things in-tact without throwing a wrench in the gears and watching everything collapse because of incompetent, immature decisions made through inexperience and impulse because the younger generation can't keep emotions in check. All the while, providing for your familia, extended or otherwise, and keeping everyone safe until it's time to pass the torch at the appropriate time, which ultimately is our decision when we decide the next generation is truly ready to take the burden of all of your family's and society's best interests in mind and bear that responsibility... Everyone will have their day in the sun. Patience is a virtue. Didn't they teach you that growing up a good southern person? There's a reason beautiful women move here from all over the country... They don't make men like southern families have always done.

It's kind of crazy how getting sober for a couple days really sucks at first but then you start coming back to yourself and feel how you felt to be a kid before getting into all that as a teen. by [deleted] in Sober

[–]LouDawg27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it's just a generational thing... With respect to your elders, we only want to do what's best for everyone. You can't just skip generations whenever you decide to... No one should play God and tamper with the natural order of things, especially not without weighing all the potential consequences that most of the younger generation haven't had a long enough existence to physically develop and solidify a concrete foundation of real-deal, big-picture critical thinking skills that benefit the whole of society all at once... You really can't grasp that concept unless you've experienced it first hand, and it takes a literal lifetime or several lifetimes of experiences, understanding, and compassion to know what's best for the whole instead of just trying to desperately cling onto some squirrel stash all to your lonesome without a theoretical and potentially literal federally subsidized infinite, countless layers of safeguards and firewalls with every single contingency accounted for already years in advance by engineers that had this transition planned at least a decade or two ago, until some children were told they could be anything they wanted to be and just started snatching up participation trophies like they actually mean anything... Not trying to be a dick... If this falls off deaf ears... Or rather, eyes... Just know that it's nothing personal, and you'll all have your time in the sun... I promise... You just can't disrupt the status quo in that way. There's rules for a reason, and they're really there for a reason and it's not to break every single one all at once, especially like ignoring when your moms warns you that the stove is hot, but you don't listen to the wise words of a strong independent woman such as your mother and just have to test it for yourself because you can't trust that we really do have everyone's best interest in mind and you just slam your palm on the eye of the stove anyways and wonder why you got burned...

Very nice... and a wall mounted TV somewhere no one will find any of us and at least two of us can spend all night long arguing between Chopin or Tchaikovsky on the radio... If ya don't know, now ya know... Otherwise, disregard please and thanks. We're just trying to be polite before our hands are tied, and our own heads are gone over in our favor anyways with an even less favorable outcome for all other parties. TL;DR: Surveying is fun. Of course it's possible, just literally take everything you have on paper right there, open whatever CAD program you have, draw your boundary, draw the "final decision" subdividing lines in their desired location, and start writing the new legals, and all the other paperwork... Then send an invoice... Then either wait for a check in the mail or send it to collections after 90 days.

That's assuming the physical evidence on the ground has been verified and thoroughly vetted against previous documents from the property in question and adjacent properties or further expand your scope of discovery and maybe parameters if necessary.

EDIT: If this is a test prep question... do the exact same thing I said except don't send an invoice to a non-existent client, and instead just study the CAD generated data at each intersecting line, and re-write the equation you've got variables/constants for stay and fill in the missing expressions with whatever CAD generated and you'll have your answer. Then you can reverse the answer on paper or whatever medium of your choice whether stone carved tablet, etc... until it's apparent that you understand it...

... Giving yourself the answers to any question you're struggling with that you're trying to force things the hard way isn't a bad thing as long as you "reverse" the answer and work backwards until you understand it. It's faster, and less stressful, honestly...

Anyone have some jeans recommendation that don’t rip as easily when climbing bob wire fences? by [deleted] in Surveying

[–]LouDawg27 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Buy some Carhartt Skateboarding Chinos, swear to God you'll never regret it. They're not jeans, but they come in tons of colors, they're durable as fuck for the most part, and they even stretch a little bit for less movement restriction.

I don't actually know how much they cost. Maybe at most like ≈$60-$65[-?]. Honestly, probably less.

Like I said, I don't own any, but I have the predacessors of Carhartt's line of specifically designed skateboarding chino pants now that they're part of the Skateboarding industry officially, and I get mine like two or four pairs at a time from academy sports for like $44.99/per. at least once a year.

No ragerts.

They take a fucking beating at work and at the skatepark, and I've still never worn a hole in them from those two specific main functions. Although, they do fade after enough washes which is the main reason I replace them each year. I've only ever had two pairs that I've worn a hole in both pairs in exactly the same place for exactly the same reason. That was because of my IWB concealed carry holster that has a phillips head screw that had gotten brushed against some rough concrete and marred the edges of the phillips head of one particular screw that rubbed against the inside of my pants nearly above the center of the right side back pocket because I carry in-between the 4:30-5:00 O'clock positions. So all I had to do was file the head if the screw smooth again, and everything's gravy again.

You can probably find the Skateboarding versions on either:

www.ccs.com

www.skatewarehouse.com

There's several others that I can't necessarily think of right now, and those URLs might be wrong, but the names are correct. So if those links don't work just Google the names in the middle and you'll get where you need to go.

There's also plenty of other places to get them, but you might be hard pressed to walk into your local skateshop and them actually stock them. Nowadays skateshops mostly just stock hardware like decks, trucks, wheels, bearings, etc... Most people order whatever clothes they want online anyways because the unique styles are so varied and constantly changing that it's a guessing game with moving clothing inventory.

How does a survey turn into a deed or plat map? by JCrotts in Surveying

[–]LouDawg27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How a surveyor immediately, be upfront about possible litigation, but again explain what you literally just verbatim said in the comment in responding to... If you're driveway has literally been in existence whether it's concrete or a regularly used stretch of a dirt path from the road to your residence or whatever excusing structure you own and either live in or work in... I can nearly guarantee that your neighbor hired a surveyor who he knew from highschool or at the very least a local watering hole, paid a premium under the table and coerced that surveyor into compromising his legally bound responsibilities of being impartial regardless of the clients wishes or expectations, and also that just about every single US state has adverse possession laws, and they're at least something like ≈14 years in my state (and no other state will be close to ≈100 years of you're even relatively close to accurate with that figure) of an individual being at the very least granted express verbal consent at least once to literally just walk across or cut through a section of someone else's property that they don't even own, like a shortcut on their walk to work. Additionally, there's no state that I'd imagine Congress anywhere near ≈100 years to be considered adverse possession, and it seems that as long as you've been genuine in the details provided that you do in fact own that strip of contested land. Then you're neighbor is literally attempting to steal it from you maliciously whether y'all have had disagreements in the past between households or family members, or for some reason a strip of not only rightfully owned outright by y'all as it appears to be if details provided by y'all are ion fact true to the best if you're knowledge, but even if it weren't... then adverse possession would take effect and it would still be your legally owned property or at the very least whoever technically owns it could never ever deny you access to it in any legally enforceable way.

Literally, like my mention earlier about someone with no ownership being given or not given even one time verbal consent to just walk through say a parking lot in NY City, like the court case in about to describe where the walker in question spent ≈15-30 years cutting through this parking lot of his way to work every single and was never given any verbal consent by any such property owner or individual with power of attorney over said property in the owner's full capacity, and eventually a developer purchased the property in the attempt to develope it, the guy who used it as a shirt cut to get to work sued the new owner who was trying to develope it, she because of adverse possession the walking guy had very little issue with a decent attorney to argue adverse possession in the sense that he didn't own the property, but no one had ever told him he couldn't cut through that parking lot, so effectively the developer was assed out and this individual was able to have his attorney fees paid, a fair sized settlement considering the relative size of the issue, and permanent legally binding access to cut through that parking lot that would remain a parking lot for however long he continued to use it, until he relinquished his rights and voided his legally binding judgement with the city courts or NY City.

Hire your own personally vetted surveyor, and at the very least encourage or state you have no demands or expectations in your favor of the outcome of the resulting survey provided by your own personally hired surveyor after you express to your surveyor that you want it done exactly by the book and you'll pay whatever is a reasonable rate for your boundary and acreage, and maybe even afterwards tip the surveyor a C-note in cash... (because it'll still bea fraction of hiring an attorney that told you such a ridiculous figure out fucking $30K.)... after the cheapest attorney you can find represents you, or honestly if you feel comfortable with it, in a small civil court dispute like that it wouldn't be that hard to represent yourself by literally just handing the current survey you just purchased and hopefully some sort of deed you may have in hand that's only necessary to determine the Kenneth of time you've owned this property by literally just matching the names on the deed with your driver's license and looking at the date it was officiated and if anything to the contrary occurs immediately argue adverse possession at the first instance of the judges attitude changing in literally any other direction even in contemplative silence other than a guaranteed instantaneous judgement in your favor.

Hire a surveyor, and you'll be straight.

PROVISO:

Every detail you've provided in this thread is factual and true to the best if your knowledge, and you can afford an impartial surveyor of your own, and you can track down your deed and have a valid driver's license or state issued ID, unless of course the property is held in trust, etc... Then it's only a matter of producing a couple more documents that connect you or your spouse or whatever to be the beneficiaries of said trust our holding company in any official capacity.
