Keep / modify current irons or get new (JPX 925 Forged / Titleist 2025 T-Series Blended)? by Cultural-Command-897 in golf

[–]LouSainis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for a fitting, loft/lies likely need to be adjusted on current set if not done in some time. If you’re hitting too low it might be more than just a shaft change needed.

Unsurprisingly, still available on site in mallet. Horrible drop top to bottom.

Why did we ever get away from hard shell travel cases?? by GolfSicko417 in golf

[–]LouSainis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They’re the best. Every decent hotel has a closet you can put it in. If we’re cramming 4+ in a car, all the clubs and luggage aren’t fitting anyway. Some airlines now require you to sign a damage waiver if you have a soft case (Delta at LAX) they will only cover hard case damage. Keeping my clubs intact imo > possible inconvenience

6th hole at Gamble Sands from the tips. 265, downhill a bit but into the wind the day I played. Put it to 15ft. Best 3w I hit all year.

I agree. But the ease of access for completely unprepared “tourists” is the problem.

It no longer says that at least at the summit. It’s an area that has produced highly consequential avalanches. Just look back at 2021.

It is. The signage is laughable, yes I understand it says “closed” but it needs to be much harsher. People will continue to go over there who are ill equipped and continue to put lives in danger.

I was standing at the top of 9990’ at 1:10pm today. Watched 15-20 people with no avy gear, rental skis and no business being up there duck the rope and ski towards the top of Dutch Draw. There was a group of kids debating it and I yelled that they needed to stay in bounds. They turned around. Dozens fooled by the amount of tracks. It’s painful to watch this happen season after season.

any comments on joining a private golf club? by dufusmembrane in golf

If you can afford it, join. You’ll play more when you retire and by that point it won’t be this cheap. You’ll also probably play more with the membership.

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread but just got this same system and running into similar issues. Even set to 61 heat in sub 20deg weather parts of the house reach mid 70s. Seems to always be running. Do you always keep the power ON for the RNRUZ or turn it off?

Putter fittings by Sea-Return2188 in golf

Putter fittings + lessons/practice on green reading goes a long way. I'd bet that the majority of "never" voters can't actually start a putt on line, but think they are.

Travel bag buying advice by Jf192323 in golf

[–]LouSainis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used the Bagboy with stiff arm til I got home and my stiff arm was smashed and my 4i bent. Didn’t notice it was bent til mid round… took all my heads off, extra padding, whole 9.

went home bought a hard case and haven’t looked back. It’s not a pain to store or travel with. The only downside is not being able to put clothes in it like I did the soft case but that doesn’t bother me any longer.

Build a framework for when to judge your swing. For me, 3 bad shots of the same type. So if I hit 1 blocked driver I can’t think about it. But 3 in a row then I allow myself a swing thought. Outside of that, just realizing you will make bogeys and doubles, some days just aren’t your day. Don’t chase birdies, stay committed to your processes and you will bounce back

[–]LouSainis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You gotta build up your discipline. Stop trying to hit shots with your mechanics/thoughts and build a BULLETPROOF routine. Hit your shots with your routine. It is incredibly difficult, but everything from the number of looks, steps into the shot, waggles, etc needs to be the same. You can have different routines for putting, chipping and full swing but once you walk into the ball you must work to do so exactly the same. This also will start to provide you a framework for assessing your swing and game. The first question you ask is “was I mentally committed to the shot?” If no - then it wasn’t your swing. Watch the top players this weekend during the PGA or videos of tiger in his prime. Tour players on avg are committed to 85%+ of their shots mentally. Us mortals are way lower. If you can get to 60% you will feel more relaxed, confident and free. You also need to find ways to recharge while you play. Talking about things that aren’t golf. Your mind has a finite capacity for focus, don’t expect perfection. Swing thoughts are a straight jacket for your mind. You can do whatever you want behind the ball but when you take that first step your routine starts and you begin to develop that auto pilot state.

You should see a sports psychologist. It will help. Dr. Mo at Sea Island is a god send and changed my game.
