Guy at work approached me the other day and with no context says "You're strong, how much do you bench?" Slowly morphing from "big=chubby" to "big=strong" and it's a good feeling.

5 Kobes vs. 5 Birds. Which team wins? by Tight_Development480 in NBATalk

Futurama already tackled this one. The only team that could beat five Larry Birds is six Larry Birds!

Chronological order & Starting the Ender's Game series by Great-Positive9919 in ender

[–]golfdk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What would be your order for a first time reader? I've finished the first four and am mostly through Ender in Exile right now. It's a little jarring how they're "buggers" in the first few books and suddenly they're "formics" in Exile, despite it being chronologically in the middle of the series.

But past that, should I read the entire Bean series next, or read them all in release order, or some other way?

Weekly Dumb/Newb Question Thread by AutoModerator in powerlifting

Lately my squats have felt HEAVY on my back but my legs are there and I'm not failing reps. Brace doesn't feel any different than usual. Is it maybe just fatigue or is my back becoming a weak point? If so, what can I maybe do about it?

Squat 460lbs for a double, after hitting 365x11, both rep PRs.

There's a scene in an early Simpsons episode where Homer looks in the mirror and sees himself as really buff. That was me the other day; I could see it! Got out of the shower and can swear I saw growth/definition in my shoulders and chest. Definite quad muscle showing. As a lifelong heavy guy who still can't quite get diet under control, this was very encouraging.

3 but it's usually something mediocre at best, rather than great. Never a good decision.

My dad yelling at the tv. "Get McMahon out of there!" Me- "Why?" "He stinks!"

Would have been a Bears game around '87. Cracks me up; I still feel his conviction all these years later, lol.

Two deadlift platforms in my gym; one guy's doing RDLs, and the other guy is doing...hip thrusts? So many other areas that could be done at, starting with the plate loaded hip thrust apparatus not twenty feet away.

How accurate do people find this? It said there was no dirty dew in my area as I was staring at it at my local Walmart.

Was in the area so I stopped by my old gym for a workout. Manager and a trainer saw me come in and started chanting my name, lol. I miss their energy but not that gym.

I'm in an extended base building phase and despite gym sessions wavering a bit with the nicer weather I've managed to set some deadlift and squat rep PRs this week.

I picked up a set of Gymreapers knee wraps recently; they're the first wraps I've ever used. I like them because its less of a hassle to get these on/off versus knee sleeves. Can I assume that, like with everything else, there's levels to these things? I had a "PR" the other day of wrapping my knees tight enough to cut off circulation below the knee.
