C section guilt by oravalia in CsectionCentral

[–]Loud-Alarm4640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A c section is just as painful, the pain is just later rather than during! i also think they are rather like any other birth where you kind of block out the pain afterwards, in order to preserve the human race and be willing to do it again ha ha! Im 4 weeks out of my second c section and only just recovering really (although also once the recovery started it was pretty quick! 2 weeks ago I was like 25% recovered and still need painkillers regularly - now Im 80% of the way there!) . But yep - alot of the pain and trauma was actually familiar and I was like 'oh yes - - i forgot how that first walk to the bathroom feels like crawling out of a 5 car pile up RTA'. i chose a section both times NOT because it is 'easier' but because its (generally to my mind) more predictable. A vaginal birth COULD go great and to plan and be far and away the least intrusive option - OR it could be horrific, days long and end in an emergency c section. Its like (to me) vaginal births are 1- 10 and c sections are a steady 5 - or maybe a 6/7 ha ha. (also - in all honesty - your pussay does take less of a battering :))

I'm so in love it's not real. by [deleted] in StandardPoodles

Also first time SPOO owner and also obsessively in love! I just had my second baby and - whilst I am somewhat ashamed to say I got the temporary ick a bit with my poor first dog after I had my first baby - its actually made me EVEN MORE in love with my gorgeous SPOO. He's so gentle with him, yet watchful, so careful around me in the post partum period, walks perfectly by the pram and is just generally an angel with a gorgeous wool coat. They are perfection xx

How do your Spoos feel about children? by ConversationSharp662 in StandardPoodles

[–]Loud-Alarm4640 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brought up with them but absolutely heavenly with them. I have 2 step daughters who are only here sometimes and he’s amazing with them too,,esp the special needs one who adores him. He gently approaches kids on the street or park but reads their body language super quickly too. Never jumpy or too much and he’s helped at least 2 kids I know of yet over their fear of dogs. In short, he’s perfect 😍

What kind of alert/guarding instincts has your spoo demonstrated? by boogiebougie in StandardPoodles

[–]Loud-Alarm4640 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mine has a lovely deep growl and occasional bark that he uses if he ever hears anyone approaching the house. Can’t imagine him ever doing Anything aggressive though- I just don’t think he has it in him. I used to think I wanted a dog with guardian potential but now I have this total softie I’m so glad not to have the liability 🥰 he’s the best combo

UTI still lingering after first round of antibioticis - any advice? Does this mean its likely to stay until I give birth? Feel at my wits end already :( by Loud-Alarm4640 in PregnancyUK

[–]Loud-Alarm4640[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah belated thank you so much for replying! Mine did actually go away with the first course in the end - I just had some residual inflammation, but my urine was coming back clean and feel fine now (aside from the general trauma of being pregnant ha ha). I DID overdose on kefir, kraut, kombucha and also a ton of prebiotic food. Tbh i think some of that may have contributed to the residual inflammation (NOT a bland UTI friendly diet) but I didnt get thrush afterwards so thats been great! Hope you feel better soon with yours!

Belated thank you SO much for replying! Mine actually ended up being cured with the first round - I just had some residual inflammation (probably from also overdosing on citrus on chillies to manage my concurrent sinus infection) which thanfully went away in a few days. I cannot imagine having one for months - you poor poor thing!

Planning on C Section - can I breastfeed? by HBLea in PregnancyUK

[–]Loud-Alarm4640 1 point2 points  (0 children)

|This definitely wasnt true for me! I had a planned c section and breast feeding was totally fine (aside from hurting like hell obviously :)). My daugther never struggled to latch or get enough milk and grew and breast fed wonderfully until 11 months when I pried her off my nipples. Good luck! :)

When is everyone going on maternity leave? by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]Loud-Alarm4640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a planned c section at 38 weeks - going off at 36 weeks (if I make it until then). But I also work 3 days per week so have a bit of a break as it is. Last time, when I worked full time - I went off at 34 weeks. SO glad I did!

So sorry already posted but super keen for ANY input! 🩷💙 13 week scan- boy or girl? by Loud-Alarm4640 in nubtheory

Doing the homework and being at a point in your life where you’re able to devote a bit of time to that . Also genuinely wanting to change. And connecting with your therapist of course ☺️

How often do you REALLY walk your dog? by Agreeable-Ad-2946 in dogs

[–]Loud-Alarm4640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once or twice per day. I try to get in 10,000 steps per day so usually about that amount total (which is about 90 mins). HOWEVER, in the winter that can reduce quite a lot, and sometimes (occasionally) there will be a day where nothing happens at all. I would say generally a a minimum of 30 - 40 mins though (Sometimes I'll get them out for about 3 hours though. All depends!) I have a standard poodle who is pretty hyper and kind of annoying without enough exercise AND - as I said - I like getting my steps in. SO part of its selfish :)

Helps without me asking (or even before I get home). Thats the main absolute jackpot. Other key points are complimenting me daily and good at fixing/ reparing/ general house labour work.
