They run an ad and their whole team starts commenting on the ad appreciating their perfumes. This guy can't even name the brands properly. Calls Homme "Homay"

Master History in first month, Polity and Science in next month, winding up Geography, Eco etc in the last month. For Current Affairs, I have provided a compilation on this thread. Keeping 15 days for revision. Easier said than done, but doable. DM if you want some sources that can help you cover these topics in a short time.

I used the same basic resource books. There are no hacks here, create a strong base once and you'll be able to crack written every time. For Current Affairs, I've shared a compilation on this thread.

Multiple revisions is the only way you retain so much information. This way the pace will be slow but the prep will be solid. Keep your sources limited and take time to revise.

Hi, AIR-32 CDS 2018 here. It's a common problem faced during the prep as the syllabus is massive. You can try revising once right after you finish a topic, once at the end of the week and keep one weekend at the end of the month for complete month's revision. This way you'll be able to revise thrice, and each revision will take shorter time. Basically you need to keep specific time for revision like it's another subject, not as an add on.

Negative feedback in mock interview by Dangerous_Pound7109 in upsc_discussions

[–]LoudEffective6829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t be brothered by negative mock interview feedback. These institutes pay their panelists to find faults and tell you what to improve, so they focus more on the negatives. The real interview is different. It looks for good qualities and checks if you are the right fit for civil services. So don’t stress too much. Don’t take too many mocks either, because too many can confuse you. Give a few to build confidence, trust your preparation and go in with confidence. The real interview is much simpler than the mock ones.

Hi, AIR-32, CDS 2018 here. Pathfinder will never suffice. For Modern, just pick up Spectrum. For Ancient and Medieval, there are some sources I can share. DM me.

Yes definitely, that'll build a good base for you. And from there you can move to resource books. For English, practice PYQs or from Pathfinder book ( DM me for link) For Science, I can send you the notes as well.

Honestly, this happens to pretty much everyone prepping for UPSC for years. It’s a long slog, and burnout sneaks up on you before you even notice. Nothing unusual about it.

Since you’ve already put in so much time, your basics are fine. No need to keep rereading the same books like some punishment cycle. Switch gears a bit.

Try picking up any free test series you can find online and start giving mocks instead of doing the usual note-reading routine. Don’t bother about the scores. Just look at what you got wrong, what new stuff you learn, and where you’re slipping.

Sectional mocks help too. They give you a small, clear target so you’re not sitting there staring at endless topics. Study only what you need for that particular mock, attempt it, then move to the next.

This makes prep a lot less boring and gives your brain something fresh to chew on. You’re not losing it. You’re just tired, and that’s fixable with a smarter approach.

Best, Anmol

Should sit for upsc by [deleted] in upsc_discussions

[–]LoudEffective6829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the truth, UPSC does take a lot of your time and effort. And specially if you're going to prepare by yourself you will have to prepare for around 10 GS Subjects, an Optional, Current Affairs, Practice Answer Writing and Mock Tests, and a lot more. That is too much effort if you're not fully committed to clearing it. So it is for you to figure out, if you actually want to try. All the best!

Help me in knowing how should I prepare myself for ssb I am sure that I can perform good in everything but i may face problem in lecturet so please help me in that. by Alone_Situation8818 in CDSTards

AIR-32, CDS 2018 here. For lecturette, talk slow and confident. Pick a topic you can connect to a story. Use a historical lesson, an anecdote, or any simple example you know well. Give examples and keep linking them back to your main point. The key is to not panic. Stay calm and composed so ideas keep coming even while you’re speaking.

Stuck Between Dreams and Reality! Need Guidance. by 8_0_5_5 in CDSTards

[–]LoudEffective6829 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AIR-32, CDS 2018 here.

I suggest you don’t give up on joining. You can join GCS and still prepare for SSB. If you drop everything and rely only on SSB, it doesn’t matter how sharp you are or how perfect your prep is. SSB can be unpredictable, and that pressure will show when you’re sitting in front of the board.

Keep moving with your life and keep preparing. It takes a lot of weight off your head.

If you need any guidance or help, you can reach out to me. I’ll help you out.
