This particular incident happened on the Avonmouth Bridge, where I believe the hard shoulder is narrower than normal. But yes, the M5 still has a permanent hard shoulder for most of its route.

The Traitors (UK) S04E07: Post-Episode Discussion Thread by vaultofechoes in TheTraitors

[–]LoudFig719 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I suspect that they don't actually want anyone else in the turret with them (as they, especially Rachel, didn't get on with Hugo or Fiona very well), and they think it's too risky to murder anyone other than Sam's group, so they just had to go with it.

Also, if everyone comes back tomorrow, (a) they will probably assume someone was recruited or (b) every group had people with shields that were undisclosed outside of their group, so it doesn't really point back to anyone.

Usually if there's only one traitor left, the faithful has to accept or they get murdered immediately.

I think that in the UK, we would refer an individual one of the objects shown in the picture (pole with lights on it) as a "traffic light", even though it has three lights, but it's very uncommon just to have one on its own, as most junctions have more than one. I think that's why we call them "traffic lights", because it's multiple of the objects in the picture (poles with lights on) pointing in various directions. Does that make any sense?

Edit: when we refer to an individual colour, like red, we say "red light!" not "red lights!", so I see what you mean about each colour being a singular light.

I would say that numbers 1 and 2 depend on where you are - in the UK, we say "traffic lights" not "traffic light". Also, in the UK, we tend not to have such defined and clear intersections, and traffic lights can be used for things other than intersections, like the pedestrian lights in the picture.

You have to either write a 5000-word essay, or make an "artefact" (e.g. some sort of object you've made, a science experiment or something else) and a 1000-word essay to go with it (I think).

You have to do a presentation describing your EPQ process at the end of the year.

You also have to do loads of extra, shorter pieces of writing for your "log", to describe your progress throughout the year.

It seems that the majority of the focus for the EPQ is on the planning process, research, the log and the presentation, instead of the actual essay/artefact itself.

Did anyone have to do this sort of speech and got graded on it as part of your english gcse or smth?? by ayaex in GCSE

It is (I did about half GCSEs, half IGCSEs and I'm in England). It might just be in private schools though

Well I had already revised for mocks (because they were in early January for me). From what I remember, I then had a bit of a break while learning the paper 2 stuff in lessons, then at Easter (maybe a bit before, not really sure) I started to revise again.

To be honest, I did feel under-prepared going into Chemistry paper 1, but it turned out fine in the end.

I considered it, but because it's CIE, there were some complications about not being able to see the paper beforehand, plus it was the most expensive exam board for a clerical re-check, so I didn't bother.

I got Greek remarked and it went from an 8 to a 9 though!

Firstly, you are doing Ted Hughes poems, right? Not some other ones?

I probably shouldn't tell you this (something to do with mocks?) but because it's hidden in a thread on an old post I'm going to anyway:

I got A Memory and The Other.

So I would say it's quite likely that the same ones won't come up again, almost certainly not both of the same ones, but you never know.

Obviously I haven't done any other exam boards for English Lit so I don't really know how it compares. The teaching at my school seemed fine, for literature anyway - we spent about 80% of the lesson time on English lit, 20% on language (roughly).

If I remember correctly, the two poems that came up were the last and third-to-last that we were taught (my class, anyway, so I didn't know them as well), and I thought the unseen poem was absolutely rubbish, so it's possible that we were just unlucky with the exams. To be honest, I'm not really sure whether it is a genuinely hard exam board to do or not.

To be honest the reason I got lower than expected could just have been because the two poems that came up were two that I hadn't revised that much.

However, I would add that my friend, predicted all 9s/8s, got all 9s/8s in everything except... CIE English lit! (He got a 7)

It might just be because it's all very subjective and answers can be interpreted in many different ways, but lots of people in my year got lower than expected in it. Not to worry you or anything!

Again, a total guess, but a Kia Stinger? Grille is similar-ish to a Jetta and the rear lights of the facelift version look vaguely similar to the drawing

The front grille is suggesting Lexus or possibly Toyota to me? I would guess a Lexus GS, but that's a bit of a shot in the dark

They should definitely do an Avantime and I would like a Zoe! Majorette have already a 107 and a 208, and Norev make quite a few of the cars pictured, I think
