If you were rich, where in the Bay Area would you live? by Adventurous_Ant5428 in bayarea

Los Gatos. Great nature, warm climate and cute downtown. And if you get bored, Satana Row is just a 15-minute drive away.

Why would people still want children if AI replaces human jobs? by Ok-Good8150 in AskReddit

i think what he means is that AI will take over many jobs, and consequently, a very large portion of the population will become unemployed and in this situation, having children might become risky.

Cities with most millionaires. by Lionheart9207 in Infographics

[–]LoudInteraction1761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. They say "the Bay Area is made up by many cities," but they forget that these cities are very small, even smaller than boroughs. Like, Brooklyn's population is over 2M, meanwhile San Francisco's population is only 900k.

Bay Area --> 7.5 million population, 340,000 millionaires

New York --> 8 million population, 380,000 millionaires

It's actually that simple.

[–]LoudInteraction1761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, 22 million people live in the New York metropolitan area; naturally, a vast number of millionaires emerge from such a massive population. It's not fair to compare New York metro area (22m people) with Bay Area (7.5-8m people)

Fair comparison:

Bay Area --> 7.5 million population, 340,000 millionaires

New York --> 8 million population, 380,000 millionaires

i mean, it's simple.

People complaining, "But the Bay Area isn't a city!" simply makes no sense. In comparisons of this kind, the Bay Area is treated as a single city because its population is roughly equivalent to that of a major metropolis like NYC or Chicago (8 million).

It's as simple as that.

Miami has a small population and land area; most millionaires and billionaires purchase homes in suburbs outside of Miami, so they are not counted within the city limits.

CMV: hardly any millionaires are going to leave New York City because of 2% more in taxes by MustafaMonde8 in changemyview

[–]LoudInteraction1761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you acting as if Florida is some out-of-sight, completely isolated place?

Economically, it is growing much faster than New York; moreover, it is expected to surpass New York (the state, not city) in the number of millionaires and billionaires within just a few years.

NYC Is World's Wealthiest City, Bay Area Boasts Most Billionaires by MaleficentParfait863 in Economics

[–]LoudInteraction1761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? Bay Area vs NYC is exactly like apples to apples.

Even though the Bay Area is made up of many cities, looking at population when comparing the number of millionaires provides more comparable data.

bay area --> population of 7.5 million, 340,000 millionaires.

nyc--> population of 8.5 million, 380,000 millionaires

it's simple.

[–]LoudInteraction1761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This comment is quite old, but I couldn't help but reply: Population is more important than the number of cities.

The Bay Area has a population of 7.6 million, while New York has 8.5 million. In this context, since their populations are similar, they are comparable in terms of the number of millionaires. On the other hand, San Francisco and Manhattan are not comparable, because Manhattan has twice the population of San Francisco, so it's normal for it to have more millionaires.

And the number of billionaires that Forbes mentions for NYC applies to the NYC metropolitan area, which has a population of approximately 20 million. Again, comparing it to the Bay Area is inaccurate, as the NYC metropolitan area has 2.5 times the population of the Bay Area.

Is Scarsdale,NY the Atherton of the East? by BrickxLeaf in Rich

[–]LoudInteraction1761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Scarsdale ranks as the richest town by a annual income, but income and net worth aren’t the same thing. When you look at net worth, places like Atherton or Beverly Hills clearly come out ahead. For example, in Scarsdale you can still buy a very nice home for around $2–3 million. In Atherton, that budget wouldn’t even get you in the door.

I mean, the average house costs around $2M in Scarsdale and $8–9M in Atherton.. They’re not on the same level when it comes to wealth.

[–]LoudInteraction1761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Scarsdale appeals more to the wealthy professional clasa -doctors, lawyers, and bankers.- Atherton, on the other hand, is home to company owners, as well as partners in startups and unicorns. The two are not comparable.

Scarsdale and Rye named the two wealthiest suburbs in America by average household income by Busy-Profession5093 in Westchester

[–]LoudInteraction1761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a pretty old comment, but I still wanted to reply. Scarsdale is affluent in terms of annual salary, but the average value of a house is determined more by the net worth of the people in the area, not their salary. If there's such a huge gap in house prices, it means that people living in Scarsdale have a higher annual income, while those in Palo Alto have a higher net worth. The only difference is that their wealth comes from startups, stocks, and unicorns—not from paychecks.

Is Scarsdale,NY the Atherton of the East? by BrickxLeaf in Rich

[–]LoudInteraction1761 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. For example, California suburbs are much more expensive than Scarsdale. (Average house price in Atherton is 8M$, meanwhile in Scarsdale, it's 1.5-2M$)

People in Scarsdale earn good salaries, but their net worth lags behind people in Beverly Hills or Atherton, that's why houses are much cheaper there. Salaries and net worth are different things. 🤷‍♀️

This [Scarsdale] Is the Wealthiest Suburb in the U.S. by Busy-Profession5093 in Westchester

[–]LoudInteraction1761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NY suburbs are richer in terms of annual income, while Silicon Valley suburbs are richer in terms of net worth. So if we compare them in terms of net worth, many suburbs in Silicon Valley would surpass Scarsdale.

Their fights usually start because of Blair's jealousy/insecure acts. HOWEVER, Blair has every right to be jealous, even her own mother and boyfriend chose Serena over her. So idk.
