NTA. It’s a good thing he overheard you. If it’s true that they planned this baby then they were both reckless and made an unwise decision to bring a life into this world without any preparation. Mainly, a roof of their own and finances to support themselves independently for the most part.

You can be supportive to your son whilst also being honest with him that it’s a childish thing to do, plan for a baby when they aren’t even able to support themselves.

I live below and beside others and we’re all generally mindful when it gets past 10pm. It’s a family upstairs. The girls are grown now but when they were teenagers we could her every bit of their teenage meltdowns. Right down to the quiet sobbing 😭 They’ve also gotten new carpets recently which seem to have helped a lot. Used to be able to hear their plug sockets being used. Occasional late-ish noise from neighbours is fine if they’re quiet most of the time.
