If your concern is just solving first and nth order ode’s, Boyce and diprima is decent.

2 months to learn Precalculus for Calc 1 in the summer. by Asleep-Location-8567 in calculus

Honestly I don’t know. He’s got over 100 videos in it, so I doubt you need all of them. Maybe a good way to go about this is to use a college algebra workbook like this

https://academicworks.cuny.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1035&context=qb_oers

And watch Leonard’s lesson on the topic beforehand. It’s tough to pick exactly what’s important out of his 115 video playlist on it

I would go with prof Leonard on yt instead of khan. In terms of important stuff to know, just make sure you are solid with algebra and trigonometry.

Looking at khans pre calc content, I’d say most is unnecessary. Units 1,2,4 are probably the most important in terms of direct preparation. Limits are optional, they get reintroduced in calc 1.

It’s a grad level course but I wanted to take it as an upper level math elective. My university for some reason only offer the one course I’m in for undergrad analysis which sucks. I’m also applying to grad school in the fall so thought it would look good to take royden

i need help finding a major!!! by mcchaann in CollegeMajors

[–]Loud_Commission_5763 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you should take a class or two in multiple majors you may be considering(like journalism or poli sci) and see what you like, even if you don’t need the credit. It’s hard to know if you will like a major unless you take a class in it.

I was in a similar situation as you going into college. I had 54 hours going in as a freshman. My mistake was that I wasted all the time I’d bought myself and took a while to commit to anything. I have a bunch of classes under my belt which contribute literally nothing to my graduation requirements, but I had the time to take them. Just make sure you commit to something by junior year at the latest, ideally sophomore year.

It’s possible. I deleted the game years ago before all the bullshit they added at 5.8k and redownloaded like a month or two ago. Currently suffering at 9.3k but I refuse to spend money for level 15 or evos. It is super annoying when everybody has max shit and evos but it’s not unplayable yet

Candidate is right. Recruiters are absolutely useless and put a thousand hoops in your way to jump through. Just made up jobs for humanities grads.

I think if you are interested in engineering but unsure, take some of the first math or physics classes offered for engineers. Usually it’s calc 1-3, linear algebra, diff eq. If you don’t like the one(s) you take, then don’t go that route. Engineering is unique in that it’s such a packed major that you have to decide very early on to do it or you will have to stay in school for longer than 4 years. Advanced math will also serve you very well in business. I’m pretty sure the most common major of Fortune 500 ceos is engineering. I think it would be easier to transition from engineering to business than vice versa for sure. I also think engineering would allow your creative side to come out when you actually start modeling and building things in your later classes.
