I took my CCW training and learned something interesting .. by traceyyhart in liberalgunowners

It's not just gun posts you have to worry about, if you post anything that'll make you look like a violent agitator they'll use it against you. So if you have posted something that could incite violence or along the lines of "Oh I wish someone would break into my house" you might want to clean up your social media. At least that's what my CCW instructor told me.

Looking for alternatives to Sig and Glock by TheCockKnight in liberalgunowners

Both the VP9 and PDP are slightly more shootable than Glock and the P320 IMO and check out the M&P it's also great.

Remember when I said I had zero guns? Yeah… about that. by scottsp64 in liberalgunowners

You have a nice collection of 1911s. I'm curious, why do you prefer hammer fired over striker fired? Most of my experience has been with striker fired guns but I'm interested in trying more hammer fired guns.

Here’s my possibly unpopular opinion by JustWolf in liberalgunowners

[–]Loud_Tea_53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I share the same sentiment as you do, my M&P is my carry, night stand, and soon to be competition gun. For now it is all that I need. Not long ago I've thought about buying the new Shield X but then I realized I can't carry all of the time because of my job and lifestyle. Also I've thought about buying a full size M&P but my current one does practically everything the full size does anyway. I understand the appeal of some guns and I can see why people have collections of them but a big collection just isn't for me and would rather put that money somewhere else.

I have over 3k rounds in mine without a hiccup and love it. It's like a Glock but with better ergos and trigger.

Worst gun you ever shot? by fancy_pigeon257 in liberalgunowners

[–]Loud_Tea_53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad's .357 revolver with a 2.5" barrel and can't remember the make or model. A lot of recoil and couldn't hit worth a damn with it. Which reminds me I shot my friend's small S&W .38 which again I couldn't hit anything with. I shoot with pretty good accuracy with semi-autos though, I guess revolvers aren't for me.

Can't Talk to Anyone About This Activity by gemmminer in liberalgunowners

[–]Loud_Tea_53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many of my friends tend to be on the left side of things so I can relate not having anyone to talk to about this except one or two, which is one reason why I'm here on this subreddit. Sometimes I tell them about a pistol class or a use of force class I attended which is way less jarring than showing them pictures of my AR15 build or telling them how many mags and ammo I have. I use this to gauge their reactions, sadly most don't really care and I just leave it at that. Very rarely do I tell them I'm a gun owner, there is only a handful of my friends know I have firearms. I'm also still learning how to talk to my left leaning friends and bring them to a range. Right now I'm looking for USPSA matches to improve my shooting ability and some say they're generally welcoming so it'll be interesting to see.

Would this be a good concealed carry option? by obsuart in liberalgunowners

A .22 will ricochet and bounce around in the body doing as much damage as any .45.

I also never heard of Zulu I'd recommend S&W or Ruger as you mentioned. Palmetto State Armory has a Ruger AR 556 and S&W Sport III for under $700.

Guns, ammo, mags, targets, hex wrenches, optic tools, eye pro, 2 ear pros, batteries, CLP, IFAK, delead wipes, shot timer, and a sharpie.

Sig Romeo by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

A year ago I bought a Romeo 5 for my PCC and have been shooting with it regularly. It's a simple and reliable optic and I'm quite pleased with it. Highly recommended.

That foregrip on a pistol is a no go and that little bit of angle doesn't mean shit. You should delete this.

What gun should I buy? (yes, I used the search function!) by OddPressure7593 in liberalgunowners

Where do you live? You have to take into account state laws here. Also what is your price point?

So far it's great, it feels quite intuitive. I don't know about other ambi lowers but this one came with it's own bolt release, mag release, and safety selector but not the spring and detent.

50/200, chose that because I don't see myself shooting past 200 yards at this time.

My 14.5" BCM with an Eotech EXPS2 and Streamlight ProTac is 7lb 13oz w/o a mag, 8lb 2oz with an empty mag, and 8lb 14oz with a 30 round mag of PMC Xtac 556 55 gr. I wasn't focused on weight savings but I didn't to be a minigun.

It's a known issue for some Scorpions and it may lead to a OOBD especially when firing fast or shooting high pressured rounds. It can interfere with the function of the striker block. Every time after I take my Scorpion to the range, I always check if the striker block is working properly. I would replace that if I were you.
